Nick Watney tests positive and WDs.

Guess we're all going to die after all. It was a good run.

Shut it down! Shut it all down until 2022 at the earliest IMO.

I kid. I kid.

I long for those happy, innocent times when "tests positive" merely meant that someone was a cheating scumbag or DJ, instead of "guess we have to shut down the tour again".

Look at my post closely. I'm not advocating for the PGA Tour to shut things down.

My post was a comment on 'Nick Watney tests positive and WDs.' and not a direct reply to yours

Also - for us superior forum users who use the slick-theme (ldo), your cheap tricks are trivial and do not even register

How do I change to the slick-theme?

'My 2+2' (up to the left), then 'edit options', scroll down to 'miscellaneous options' and you'll find it under 'forum skins'.

Not your fault! Blame 2+2 for not making the clearly superior skin the default

Orly?

Lucky that Watney didn’t travel on the chartered flight.

Super weak testing program they have. He went to the doctor because he had symptoms.

Positive tests were inievatable. Hopefully it doesn't spread to bad through the players. But with the precautions and testing being done I doubt it.

"As part of our policy and protocols, players are permitted to be on property while waiting for test results, however our teams who work closely with them are continuing to reiterate the social distancing/safety guidelines.

"Social distancing is not being followed perfectly by all (e.g. fist bumps). We do not have penalties in place, however we are doing everything we can to remind and enforce."

This is the problem of rushing week to week to a new city. They don’t have time to test and wait for results.

These tests also aren’t perfect. A lot of false negatives. Watney tested negative and then 24 hours later tested positive after he went to a doctor because he was experiencing symptoms. He most likely was positive before he had any symptoms.

Oh well. They’ll keep pushing forward. Without Watney apparently.

How long do you think it takes to get results? Are you assuming they send the tests by carrier pigeon to China for processing or something?

Whatever the case may be, they shouldn’t allow players into the ‘bubble’ until they are confirmed negative.

PGA is playing fast and loose to pack in this weekly scheduling.

And they really shouldn’t be letting those players that he was in contact with continue playing. The same thing could happen that they test negative and a few days later test positive.

I sincerely doubt that Watney is the only player that has it. He just happened to have symptoms which is why he got retested 24 hours later. I think there is a good chance his caddie has it too, but they aren’t going to report that info.

We will see. It does show the risk to everyone of what happens when you travel.

Of course they would report that info. DUCY?

No I don’t. The only care about players.

They completely misled the public and government.

Go back to the original statement when they announced their return. They said they would send out testing kits 14-days in advance to all players and caddies.

And then it morphed info ‘we encourage people to get tested 14-days in advance’.

That they allow people into the ‘bubble’ that haven’t gotten any results back is a total joke. This isn’t a ‘bubble’. Obviously.

If true, what you say is troubling (and I have no reason not to believe you, but I'm not going to research to verify). That said, if you think the Tour would try to cover up a caddie testing positive, I'm not sure what to tell you (I also don't believe you believe this).

FWIW, the Tour said it tested 11 people that had close contact with Watney and they all came back negative. Do you think his caddie was one of these 11 people? As you mention, our testing is just awful (false negatives/positives) etc. Do other countries have this issue with such spotty testing? I'm not sure, as I'm not following COVID that closely.

Yes, I absolutely think they’re covering it up and hoping that it did not spread.

There is a very high likelihood his caddie has it. It has only been 24 hours.

They should be doing the exact same protocol with his caddie right now and assuming he has it.

I think they’re playing a dangerous game traveling with hundreds of people week to week like a bunch of carnies. The PGA is in the business of golf, not infectious disease control.

They should have done a tournament once a month and created a real bubble. Typical greedy corporations.

We will see.

Korn Ferry Tour had caddies that tested positive each of the first two weeks. How do I know that? The PGA Tour reported it.

So please STFU with your assumptions.

I'm not sure if you're being obtuse on purpose here. Are you saying that you believe Watney's caddie in fact tested postive for COVID and that the Tour is now covering it up?
