Think it would be fun to gather a bunch of 2p2er's and head to myrtle beach for 4 or 5 days and play 36 each day and play some cards at night. I know this might be a long shot but I think it would be hella fun.

Send me a PM when I'm 76. Would love to do this. By then I'm sure I'll know a guy in the area with a sweet shuffleboard.

This would be cool. Not gonna be able to take 4-5 days off, but I'd be down for a weekend trip.

There is also a gambling boat that offers NLHE and table games.

This would be so very cool to do.

Not sure where everyone is in this forum and where they are in the World Wide Web.
I'm in the mountains of WV about an hour east of the Greenbrier.
Been years since I've been to Myrtle Beach, and haven't ever played a course down there.

One option you might consider is staying at Cheraw State park. It's a really nice course, and has some cool cabins to stay at. It would be lacking in night life, but it's a bit of a diamond in the rough for golfers. I used to go there with my dad.

I am down to 3 vacation days for the rest of 2013 and probably won't have any to spend next year, but I would be up to try it after that

Already planning to spend XMas and a few days after in Myrtle Beach.

Pinehurst is another good option. You don't have to stay at the resort as there are other good courses around. Tobacco Road has some good booking deals.

My bro and 11 friends did MB a few years back and said it was the best golf trip ever. They went for 10 days and played 8 rounds of golf and the whole trip with hotels (nothing to crazy but with kitchens) was around $1200/person including food and a **** load of booze. They had a full day @ the beach and some restaurant where they had a huge seafood feast. The golf was amazing the only ****ty thing was @ one of the courses a group of African American guys teed off in front of them and the starter commented about it in a very rasist tone and my bro called him out on it and said wtf are you saying that **** for and they got a bit of rude treatment after that but that was only one blemish.

Which course?

Want to make sure NOT to play that one.

I have a good friend that lives in Myrtle Beach and if/when I get to go visit him I want to make sure to stay away from that course. I know it might just have been one guys attitude (the starter) but the course is the one that hired him. One bad apple DOES spoil the whole bunch.

Thumbs UP to your brother for calling him out on it!!!

Myrtle is scummy, but fun as hell if you like to have a good time, sleep with random chicks and play golf.

got back today. played True Blue on sat. started out AWFUL. the fairways are WIDE open so it's grip it and rip it but trouble on every approach shot. but when you skull a 9 iron it doesn't matter how hard the course is. shot 51-43 for a 94. two birdies. played from the whites btw. 6400ish yards.

Caledonia was yesterday. played much better. 41-47 for 88. no birdies. i had a double double triple stretch on the back that killed me. I did par the #1 handicap hole though which i was proud of. oh, played from the blues which is 6100ish. short course.

Caledonia is f'in beautiful. would play again. actually, i'd play both again. my buddy and I got paired with the same two guys both days which was a lot of fun.

Am I the only person that would rather play the same course and have a better shot at putting a good round together, rather than playing multiple new courses?

I do combination of both, playing local course most often and then trying out different courses mixed in through the year. I do this because I travel a lot.

And I do believe it is true the more familiar you are with a course the better you can score.

I played at Legends a few years back. It's a very nice course.

There were also a bunch of guys out there that had strippers as caddies.

Play Caledonia from the tips and you won't consider it short. it is a great course.

In April I went for a few days and played True Blue and Caledonia. I would recommend both. Also played Man O'War and something like Burning Ridge or something. Both were acceptable, but not as nice as the first two. Went with a group of guys that have gone every year for the last 8 or so years. It was my first time. Looking forward to next year.
