Doing this has helped my impact position quite a bit.
Also just in general I feel like you could benefit from just going to the range (or preferably a LM ) and trying out new things with your swing to see what works. It looks like to me that you're trying to have this perfect looking robotic backswing, and in my personal exp, I semi wasted 2+ years trying to do just that. For example watch Bubba watsons swing on youtube a bunch of times then go to the range and give it a whirl. Lengthen the backswing, trying shifting your weight in different ways, try manipulating the club face in different ways, etc,. I'd stop worrying about what it looks at least some of the time, end of the day it doesn't matter as long as you're consistently getting the ball striking numbers you're looking for.
Eh, I'm not really trying to do too much fancy, and I have no reason to really have a slow or fast takeaway. I am basically trying to keep a few bullet points for my swing: first, stay "against a wall" kind of on the takeaway, so that when the club is level with the ground it's roughly equal to the hands from straight behind. Starting on this path will make sure I come more inside out on the downswing. Second I am trying to not overswing by staying wide, and get turned obv. These things are pretty second nature to me at the moment. But after I do those things in the takeaway-- I have trouble really having many swing thoughts after that, as you might expect.
I am working with someone 1-2x per week via video, so I don't wanna get too weird (I mean I do hit random balls all the time with different focuses, from different parts of my stance, with a ball on my chest to maintain width, etc. Hands out in front will come if my right hip isn't blocking-- but again, even if I think "start downswing with hands setting" or something, I just wind up getting my lower body around first. It's just so depressing to see how good it feels and think I'm having good results, and it I'm just always flipping when I check the tape
