Has there ever been a better drive than that on a last hole/playoff?

WTF with that last drive by DJ?? Had he done that in the previous rounds? Why didn't he do that in regulation?

He's like, "**** this fairway, I'll just go straight over the lake - a 300 yd. carry - and rattle Justin."

Easy game. Chicks dig the long ball.

Wow that playoff hole by DJ was something else. Love the way he just grips and rips, so nonchalant.

Some memorable 72nd hole drives I can think of.

when JB Holmes hit over the lake and bunkers on the left side of TPC Scottsdale, to get his first win (don't think anyone had tried that line before and they later changed the hole)

Cabrera piping it like 350 down #18 at Oakmont (DJ probably also did this when he won there but Cabrera was in a tighter battle IIRC)

DJ smoked it on 18 at Doral the year he narrowly beat JB Holmes, I believe it was well past where anyone else had hit all week.

There aren't as many that I remember from playoffs, but there is a famous one I didn't see live

Hahaha.

I was at top golf watching it down the stretch and seemed like half the people audibly gasped at that last drive. I know I did. Go big or go home.

Especially tour wives.

Just watched that drive on my DVR. It was hilarious how Faldo initially reacted like it was going in the lake as DJ just looked away and ticked up the tee because he knew it was perfect.

I am sure that people realize that several tour players have come out and criticized the PGA Tour for making 18 the first playoff hole due to the likelihood that a long driver would have a distinct advantage on that hole (due to the dogleg vs. lake).

Hitting the ball long and straight is an advantage in golf? Who knew?

They had better pick playoff holes with a perfectly flat green also, just in case one of them is a better putter.

Does anybody give two ****s what Ian poulter thinks?

The number 1 player in the world won in a playoff. So unfair.

I agree the hole selection griping is silly. They use 18 because the crowd is already there. Does Poulter also believe they shouldn't use a par 5 for a playoff?

Poulter must be angling for Chamblee's job with all the contrarian hot takes.

Funny thing is every pro who complained was a short hitter. It was a risk reward shot, it's not like all week the bombers were playing over the lake and getting a huge advantage. If DJ even slightly mis-hits the shot he loses

Not to mention he still had to get up and down from 95 yards to win, that's far from a given.
