this all rings true. wasn't Tom Watson made the Golf Ambassador Emerius (or such) of the resort several years ago.

Most places are Phil's kinds of place if the owner writes Phil a 7 figure check.

I'd feel the same way.

I think this mostly because I think it would be hilarious to see a caddy carrying a 400 pound bag. I'm a bad person.
That used to be the rule. I was reading a book about Bobby Jones and it talked about him beating someone in of the final of the US Am who had 22 clubs. Jones carried like 7 or 8.

This Portstewart course is pretty spectacular. Would love to get to Northern Ireland one day.

Such a classic course though, not many pga stops like it.

They ran this commercial almost every time they went to break today. Hyping up falconry and other obscure activities that you can do almost anywhere. Then I saw on their Greenbriar sporting club logo it's been around since 1778!? wtf.

Also today, enjoyed Mickelson hitting some guy in the head after floating his approach shot. They made him sit in his lawn chair awkwardly using a bottled water as an ice pack.

Yeah they are pretty strong in the visually appealing department. It's standing on Tour is largely due to Sam Snead's strong ties with the TG through the years.

It's a nice place. A little stuffy imo. Golf wise it's solid though I think the nearby Homestead Cascades is a better golf course. That course is criminally underrated

Solid win unless they hole out. Will be rooting for him since we both lived in San Diego.

Guy is quietly having a phenomenal year.

I like guys like Streb and Henley who have ugly swings but still get the job done. Too much emphasis on who has the prettiest swing.

When Xander first showed up on the leaderboard at Erin Hills a couple weeks ago I figured he was a random no name that would disappear. Guess that was way wrong.

Definitely lacking a star studded leaderboard this week. Its a shame because this seems like a cool course and a good tournament.

paging ntnBO... last week, Ollie Schniederjans was DQ'd from the Greenbrier for signing an incorrect scorecard. he was going to miss the cut by a stroke anyway. so no big deal right? or is there anything of significance in this scenario?

Doubtful. Some years back being DQ'd could lead to being ineligible for post season awards such as the Vardon Trophy for scoring average, etc. I honestly don't know if that's the case any more though, I tend to doubt it.
