i realize rahm seems to be in contention every week now but is he really such a talent that he is going to be 1A to DJ at #1?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idChSwhlhik

2nd half of video is peter kostis analyzing rahm's swing... amazing how short rahm's swing is.

i've always wondered about strong grip... looks like rahm's top hand - closest to end of club head - is neutral-weak whereas the bottom hand is much stronger. that's what kostis said - i think.,

video after that one - robert baker, amazing golf secret - was good too... talks about bowed wrist

It's a welcome surprise to hear that he might have a weak top hand and a stronger bottom hand, because that is what I've been doing with my grip and I can't seem to stop. Maybe it isn't a big mistake.

My good buddy who went to Arizona State and is my self proclaimed golf guru says Rahm is the real ****ing deal and he was talking about this guy before he got on Tour.

My swing is a lot like Rahm's with a whole helluva lot less talent

man this makes a lot of sense...I keep trying to cock my wrists at the top, thinking that a bowed wrist was bad...it's like a tennis backhand!

If I remember correctly Andre Aggasi plays golf left handed for that very reason.

There have been many great dominant top hand players (righties with dominant left hands and vice versus) including Ben Hogan, Johnny Miller, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Greg Norman, Nick Price and Curtis Strange to name a few. This type of set up favors a swing style that pulls the front (dominant) side into the ball rather than the rotating of the backside into the ball. I feel this setup allows for slightly more control at the cost of a bit of power.

A similar effect is seen in hockey where players with the dominant hand on top handle the puck better and players with the dominant hand low shoot better. (as a general rule of course)

Also, Rahm is already a great player and will only get better. The debate is really over, he's already there. While DJ has prodigious talent I don't think him being #1 for a long time is in his future, he just doesn't have the head for it. Just think of how it took DJ to harness his talent as compared to Rahm. Rahm is miles ahead.
