Oh dear looks like Allenby may have gone on another bender. No bizarre kidnapping stories here though, YET. Sounds like the guy may need help.

I think he might be the Wayne Brady of golf. He never seemed like a crazy guy but I have a feeling if I went out partying with him I'd end of up crying and wanting to go home.

By the report, sounds like the casino probably wouldn't let him in or kicked him out (cause he was drunk) and refused to leave.

what were they talking about jordan speith's swing? i think it was twice and they mentioned 2-way miss - which is bad.

basically they mentioned how his belt line should stay more stable..

wasn't sure of the logic as i thought pro's have their hips really open when they make contact?

i did notice his belt going way UP as he hit the ball.

Kinda fun watching them play on a course I played 3 months ago. My birdie on 17 is looking even better after watching the pros play it. And yes, I did play the back tees.

It is kind of fun to see them actually get punished for hitting balls in the rough or bunker. These full swing hacks and the camera guy can't find the ball till they zoom in 50 yards short.

The following players qualified for the teams on points yesterday:

TEAM USA#1
1 - Dustin Johnson *
2 - Jordan Spieth
3 - Phil Mickelson
4 - Patrick Reed
5 - Jimmy Walker *
6 - Brooks Koepka
7 - Brandt Snedeker
8 - Zach Johnson

TEAM EUROLANDs
Rafael Cabrera-Bello
Matthew Fitzpatrick
Sergio Garcia
Rory McIlroy
Justin Rose
Henrik Stenson *
Andy Sullivan
Danny Willett *
Chris Wood

* = 2016 Major winner

Captain Darren Clarke names his 3 captains picks tomorrow. Who do the Euros think will be picked?

USA#1 captain (and fellow Tar Heel) Davis Love III has 3 picks to be announced Sept.11/12 and 1 pick to be announced Sept. 25/26.

Let's take a look at #9 - #20 on the USA#1 list:

9 - Bubba Watson
10 - J.B. Holmes
11 - Rickie Fowler
12 - Matt Kuchar
13 - Scott Piercy (better 1st half of season than 2nd half of season)
14 - Bill Haas (heroic performance in last Prez Cup)
15 - Jim Furyk (Ryder Cup vice-captain)
16 - Daniel Berger
17 - William McGirt
18 - Jason Dufner
19 - Kevin Chappell
20 - Ryan Moore

Alright, so Bubba and Rickie will be on the team. That leaves 2 more picks to debate.

I think J.B. Holmes is the odd bomber out. DJ and Bubba provide the bombs away golfers for strategic pairings.

Personally, I give the 23-year-old Daniel Berger a place on the team. He has the potential to be a team player for a decade+, so let's get his feet wet on home soil (ala Rickie in 2010, although that was away soil).

My final pick is a coin flip b/t Kooch and Haas. I lean towards Kooch (partially for his Olympic performance).

My prediction for Euro team picks. Westwood, Kaymer (both look certainties to be named) and Pieters. Feel bad for Knox if he misses out with 2 PGA tour wins including a WGC.

I would probably take Bubba, Kuchar, Furyk, and Rickie if I am picking the US team.

I don't like JB Holmes because I don't think he's very playable in alternate shot at all and don't trust his consistency.

If Furyk doesn't want it or think he deserves it I would obviously let him make that call, but the guy just shot 58 and has played well this summer plus has all the experience and the right mindset for this event.

I'd probably leave Rickie off of it until the final pick in case he falters or someone else catches fire as he just hasn't played very well at all this year.

Sounds about right. I just saw where Pieters won y'day in Denmark (3 wins at the age of 24 is very impressive). He almost defended here in Prague too the previous week (didn't go this year, but saw him play last year in the third round).

Lehman, Stricker, TW, and Furyk are listed as vice-captains. Obv Furyk could play, but I'm guessing he's moved on to the other side of the team. He has experience, but unfortunately it is watching Westwood and Poulter drink bubbly out of the Cup on #18 green every Sunday evening. Out with the old imo.

Have to disagree a bit with your Rickie assessment. He started the year #6 in the world and is now #8. How do you leave the #8 player off your team? He has 21 starts, 9 T10s, a second, and a win. Now, that said, he has a T33, T46 and 3 MCs in the big five.

Rickie can still go and snapchat the experience for the rest of us. He doesn't need to play for that to be the case. However, I did have him on my list of people in barring someone getting hot and being too good to leave off. I see no reason to leave Furyk off if he wants to play though. He's playing well and I imagine his points per start are as good as some guys who auto-qualified.

True, you aren't saying Rickie is off your team.

Fair points on Furyk too, as he prob makes it on merit w/out sitting all that time for his injury.

Reading some of the articles that have come out today. A consensus forming that Justin Thomas might be picked in order to pair with Spieth.
