Yeah I think Datagolf has him in the top 50 in the world in overall adjusted strokes gained. So it sucks that the barriers are up for him right now, but if he keeps playing this way he'll be a PGA Tour regular in no time.

You would think they can promote 5 or 10 people or something like that. I believe that's what the LPGA is doing this year.

I’m not aware of any promotions happening on any tour for 2021 other than PGA Tour opposite field events. Nobody is losing their status, therefore there’s no room for promotions.

They actually could have on the Champions Tour because the starting field is typically 78 players. They could have had Q school like normal, 5 advance, then simply add a group off both #1 and #10 in the wave for an 84 player field.

Do you mean for this messed up wraparound season? That's what they're doing. The Top 10 from this season that just ended will get in the opposite events. I really think it's going to be a weird season to watch. Guys might wind up playing like 35 events.

I see that USGA gave 5 spots to the top 5 point earners in the KFT playoffs. So rigged.

There was also 5 spots (10 total) from the KFT "regular season" so Will is in the US Open!

They gave 5 spots to the top playoff performers and not the regular season points winner? Or did I miss that he got an invite?

Edit: Ah, yeah I missed that.

Should be cool! He's playing great and a US Open is his setup.

I'm so used to stupid Twitter that I just spent a few seconds looking for a like button. Time for forums to catch up! Wait, long form is so much better than short ****! (and yay, I can cuss here without fearing my DM's blowing up that I should know better)

Even if things don't go well this weekend, I'm sure he'll never forget a hole in one.

Even though he's doing well on the Korn Ferry I never would have taken him in dfs this week if it wasn't for this thread. Let's hope he can keep it going tomorrow and into the weekend!

Man that last stat. Will just looks so mechanical with his putting for such a young guy, it concerns me a bit. Hope he can loosen up some without sacrificing any ballstriking. How good does he hit it though... WOW.

It's obviously a longshot, but his probability of winning tomorrow is non-zero.

It's not good. I see +2 or better winning. That's 10 players, with 6 more at +3 who have an outside shot.

Wil going to finish top 10 in the US Open, should move him up to ~80th in the world rankings. Once a player gets in the top 64 he starts getting into WGC events and majors. Pretty cool.

Gets him into next year’s US Open automatically.

Everybody backing up, currently T6. Those misses by McIlroy and Zach just put a lot more money in his pocket.

If somehow two more back up to 5, he gets in all the US majors next year I believe. Also getting a ton more world ranking points.

I was wondering what his finish this weekend gets him, other than a big ass check. Thanks for that.

Looking like a big ass check of $408k. By my rough calculation, up to around 74 in the world ranking.

T6 and a ~$400k payday. led the field in strokes gained approach. impressive stuff

edit: he made $5k more this week than he did playing in 16 Korn Ferry Tour events and leading their standings.
