It's a shame the kid listens to you so well. I was really looking forward to a Ebby-Calvin Crash Davis type story. Like where he says "I'm the one with a quadraphonic Blaupunkt." And you say, "You don't need a Blaupunkt, you need a soft fade."

The interview Camp linked was good. Good round today fellas, get some sleep. How early you starting for a 7:20 Tee?

He played solid again this morning. Had a pretty bad 3 putt on 7 and butchered that par 5 #13 again. Play round of 16 at 1:10.

Yhe kid he beat this morning was #39 amateur in the world.

Ggogogoogogo!

1 up winner. Played last 14 five under and birdied last.

I'm smoked. I'll update a tad more later.

He really made some gritty putts today. Awesome.

A few players who are making a name for themselves at this U.S. Junior after coming in as relatively unknown kept their strong play going through the round of 32. Anton Serafini, of Lake Mary, Fla., defeated Eric Bae, of Cary, N.C., 2 and 1; Joshua McCarthy, of Danville, Calif., beat Dwight Cauthen, of Columbia, S.C., 4 and 3; and Will Dickson, of Providence, R.I., got past John Pak, of Scotch Plains, N.J., also by 4 and 3.

Dickson has had a rotating cast of caddies this week, and when his caddie from yesterday’s round-of-64 victory over Cameron Young, of Scarborough, N.Y., couldn’t make it back today, Dickson had a familiar face on the bag – Young.

“I guess we’re pretty good friends now,” said Dickson with a smile. “He knew my situation and he asked if I wanted him to caddie for me, so, we were probably the most talented pair on the course today.”

Dickson will face five-time U.S. Junior participant and No. 8 seed William Zalatoris in Thursday afternoon’s round of 16. Zalatoris dispatched Zecheng Dou, of the People’s Republic of China, 3 and 2. and 2.

amateur rankings from wagr.com for the final 8

Sean Crocker (500) vs William Zalatoris (1188)
Will Grimmer (651) vs Curtis Luck (111)
Sam Horsfield (72) vs Andreas Halvorsen (156)
Davis Riley (46) vs Andy Zhang (77)

young Will seems to have been placed in the beneficial half of the bracket.

In the event of a tie after 18 holes, a sudden death playoff will immediately commence on hole #1 between the caddies of the two players.

Although if that happens after an afternoon match, I may have to bet against 40-year old legs after looping 36.

From one of the kids left in the tournament. His 2012 golf experiences as a 14-year old. Not exactly a typical year in the life of a high school freshman.

Do am rankings not update very often? Will has to be in the top 100 with his two summer wins.
