Well done sir.

Sounds like it might end up being fortunate that the CDC isn't too far from the course....

Really hard day out there today. Haven't had a chance to look over the other players actual scores, but anything around par was pretty good. Greens are firming up and getting quick. It was pretty windy today and the fairways are 23-28 yards wide. Rough isn't too bad, but with the firm greens it's good enough.

Will started very solid and the match really never felt as close as it was. Will three putted from really hard spots on 11 @ 100', and 14 from 40' that he just hammered his second and lipped out. But he nutted up and made a great 9' par putt on 15 and lagged real nice from 40' on 16.

More later. Dinner now.

and i apologize for the string post, but what Will says in that video is pretty much exactly what i'm referring to when i semi-jokingly refer to 'strokes gained looping'.

there's no doubt that he is the one that is making the swings and hitting the shots, but the shot making strategy (how many other caddies are charting their player's ellipsoidal shot range to select the optimal approach?),
psychology (how many other caddies have played at the level of competition that you have?) and paternal relationship (how many other caddies are referred to as their 'kind of like second father' by the players while still having the first two characteristics?)

i can appreciate that you want to deflect all attention to Will, because it's well deserved, but perhaps if you can also learn to drive the ferrari like you ask him to drive the ferrari, then the road ahead of both of you might just be endless.

"He has been playing forever". I think he called you old, but in a really nice way.

It's a great interview.

It's pretty accurate. That's the reason I said it never really felt as close as the score showed. Will 4 up with 6 to go simply in this match would have to give it away as Jordan wasn't going to blitz the last 6 -3. So even with a couple bogeys he still was just taking holes off the board.

Jordan did make bogeys early that Will took advantage of. But Will also had birdie putts from 10' on a couple of them that I simply had him lag it 6" short on or just not do anything stupid.

Also...to further what I said above. Jordan got it up and down from absolute jail on 15 left and from 40 yards in a bunker on 16 just to stay alive.

I wonder if his wrist would have hurt as bad if he would have been 3 holes up, instead of 3 down.

So I guess you can't touch Wills grips, he can't touch the bag, you got a special routine for the towel, what else am I missing here?

Anyone who has access to a UK booking sight should try and find out the odds if you bet him to win a major in the next 10 years before he goes and wins this thing as well.

I've got hand sanitizer in my caddie bin and if I notice myself bite a nail I use it. Otherwise I still use it every couple holes to be safe. This only transfers from saliva or feces (the latter doesn't seem to be an issue). I'm certainly trying not to touch grips but I don't think with my other hygiene protocols it's an issue.

As for the air knuckle blow up we did that before I knew what was going on as a joke. It really is a pain having to deny all handshakes though. People ask what's wrong then I have to show them my hands and look like walking death.

Yes. He really was hitting loose shots early. I am friends with the Oklahoma state coach and when he and I were walking to the range chatting prior to second stroke play round we passed Jordan and Alan asked him how he was doing and he said "it hurts worse than yesterday".

It's a legit injury.
