Jim Furyk goat

What's going on with the final round? Scoreboard on ESPN shows the tournament is near the end with Furyk going off but I'm watching a stream of the tournament showing that the leaders haven't even teed off?

The coverage on TGC was recorded from earlier today (not LIVE). The tee times were bumped up in an effort to get the event in before inclement weather made its way through the area.

The same will happen on CBS when the coverage begins. They'll air it as they filmed it, so it will be on tape delay.

Playing off. Furyk continuing to be snakebite, although not thru any meltdown of his own this time (yet)

Spieth T11, 8 shots back, very nice effort the week after the Masters considering the travel up and down the Eastern seaboard

birdie - birdie playoff win for Five Hour.

his 17th Tour win and first win in his last 100 starts.

Great reaction by Jimmy Five Hour. Wiping away an ungodly amount of recent final round frustration
04-19-2015 , 08:55 PM
Maybe it is my ignorance but I was surprised to hear it was that long of a drought for JF. Felt more recent than four years when he shipped the 10M tour championship.

Wow, just saw the playoff. That is one of the all-time great reactions. Drops the putter and screams before the ball even went in. Would have been mega annoying for him to shoot 63 in the final round, lose to a Kisner birdie in the playoff, then hear jackasses label this another choke for not closing out.
04-19-2015 , 11:36 PM
I was really looking forward to being one of those jackasses, can't stand Furyk.

didn't see playoff. happy for furyk although i would have thought choking/pressure/etc. for him is more relevant to majors. sorry bad grammar.

Very happy Furyk finally got another win. Well deserved.

Nice to see Jim win but I think a bit too much was made of his "drought". I mean the guy had won 16 times already, including a major and the FedEx cup, and he has been playing very good golf all along. It's not like he's Henrik Stenson who dropped out of the top 200 and then found his game again.

I don't think much was made of the "drought." Yesterday was the first I head about how long it was since his last win. I think the storyline for the last couple of years was the tourneys he lost (and the way he lost them)and the choke word has come up more than a few times. The storyline was never really about stopping the drought, but rather about whether Furyk could close the deal under pressure , based on his recent finishing struggles.

I am sure if he was honest he would say he was more happy the choke label monkey is off his back than he is about breaking any drought.

Anyway, good for him. Nice win.

Thought the same and was surprised its been so long. I still remember that 59 he shot like it was yesterday. Dudes been a beast since his last win.

I'm the only guy in my 45-man salary cap pool (stuck with team for entire season), so yeah for me (and him, too I guess).

Golf just has so many great stories, and this season has been very exciting. I'm happy really happy for Furyk, I find guys like that inspirational.

-- Other note, anyone else surprised a guy like Bo Van Pelt hasn't been a bit more of a consistent winner on Tour?

Didn't think I could hate Bubba more until literally every time he opened his mouth in this video he posted:

I guess the shot is kinda cool, but it is completely overshadowed by him speaking.

Freddie jacobson has the record now for no three putts. 524 consecutive holes.

Not sure how long Chambers Bay will be setup, but I sense it could suit Furyk well. Not so fast greens and heavy penalties for stray shots, which Furyk should prefer.
04-22-2015 , 12:30 AM
I seem to recall that it was quite long other than one tricky drivable par-4 on the back.

More than anything I recall the greens being horrifically baked out and fast, which may benefit the home viewer much more than any one player.

i was thinking the same thing regarding Chambers Bay. that said, i remember some uphill holes that may be a beast for the short hitters. also, #TEAMSPIETH played in that U.S. Am.

quick brag: playing Harbour Town next Saturday .. can't wait. will be my second most famous course (to Spyglass Hills).
