We go through this every year. Neither the Masters nor CBS give two ****s about the ratings in any given year. It's a gold mine for both regardless. The Masters can charge CBS whatever they want and CBS will pay it. CBS can charge whatever they want for ad time and companies will pay it.

Admittedly, it's an odd concept to comprehend. But once you realize the unusual relationship between the parties involved, then you'll figure it out.

Regardless of the outcome of the Houston Open, time for me to officially eat crow. Commented a few months back that Spieth might nosedive this year after using up all his run-good on worthless tournaments like the Hero World Challenge. Dead wrong.

LOL.... every time i see delaet near the top i always think "i hope he doesn't blow it on the weekend"

i agree it's mostly sunday for his collapse but it has been saturday (one of the texas - non-houston - tourneys i remember).

is it that these huge hitters 1) swings break down under pressure - dustin johnson 2010 USO at Pebble, 2) weakish shorter game gets exposed.... both either pressure or more difficult course set-up.
