If you have access to a launch monitor at a driving range it's a great way to get swing speed, ball speed, carry and total yardages.

I use a GPS watch when I play and use the "measure shot" function a lot. Start the measurement - walk up to the green and check the distance where you fix the ball mark and where the ball came to rest. If it's pw and the ball mark is 130 and the ball ended up 135 it tells you a lot.

I've also been out solo late afternoons/evenings on empty courses and used a flat wide fairway as a personal driving range. That's a good way to see your "dispersion" if you hit a few from the same spot.

Learning numbers on the course is the only true way to know. As mentioned above, use various GPS features available nowadays or just hit a bunch of shots on the course making sure you know the exact yardages to the target.

for some reason my 7 iron is odd. I can hit it 140 or 160. I just feel comfortable with the setup, takeaway, plane and everything. One of the few clubs I can take something off of or add something to.

I often use it about 7 times a round..

My driver CHS is about 94-96MPH

At the end of the season I was doing something like this:

3 wood draw 240 to 260
3 wood fade 230 to 250

2 iron draw 210 to 220
2 iron fade 200 to 210.

7 iron 155 to 165 draw
7 iron 140 to 150 fade

Pitching wedge 110 to 120.

Fill in the gaps et voila.

yes. with the shorter clubs i can hit it quite straight as well but with the longer clubs i prefer to have large margin for error.

My goal is to take the same swing regardless of the club. Play the yardage to the corresponding club and take into account pin position.

Then I never really hit a full gap or 56 unless I need to get it high over a tree or something.

Then I have 2 wedge swings where I keep the face square the whole way, I consider it like an elongated version of a chip swing where I kinda just keep the club face square and hammer through the ground. Keeps it low but a bunch of spin so I generally get 1 big hop and a small roll out.

56 - 70-75
