The greens at my home course were like 3x firmer, and slicker than these greens are today. Pretty easy to score if you can hit it straight in no wind conditions, and stop the ball right on the pitch mark on every hole.

Johnny Miller just blasted the 9 under round.

Erin Hills is not Oakmont
50 yard fairways are not 25 to 29 yard wide fairways.
Erin Hills is setup like a regular PGA tour event.

Note: if these fairways were 25 yards wide, even with the soft conditions and no wind, what would the low score be right now?

They just showed a graphic of lowest US open scores thru 54 holes, Rory at congressional was the lowest at -14, the next four guys were all from this year.

On a positive note, thanks to Trump getting elected, this years US Open is only the second most embarrassing thing to happen in the US in the past 12 months.

from what we can see on the set of " Live from...", the wind is whipping today. let's see how many 63s and 65s are fired today. this is the way the USGA envisioned this tournament/course.

A+ to Fox on their coverage. i missed most of their debut last year b/c i was living in Euroland. i'd be fine w/ Fox having the rights to all 4 majors and the Ryder Cup.
