my wife and i (she is a 6hdcp, golfs daily) are planning two weeks in hawaii, sept 2-17. we'd like to know;

if we decide to spend the entire two weeks on one island, should that island be oahu or the big island, assuming golf is the main determining factor (we've already done a two week stay on maui).

your top three must-play

your #1 "i wish somebody had told me..."

$ is not a concern

Although I didn't go to the Big Island I am guessing that's where you should go. There are an awful lot of courses in the top 100 there.

I did go play on Oahu when I was there. Ko Olau is a must play there. Judging by all of there IG pics they are cutting back the jungle to make it play a bit easier.

The I wish someone told me would not be golf related and may not apply but, don't fly Island Air, stick to Hawaiian when going between islands.

If you make it to Kauai, I quite enjoyed Princeville Makai. Most ritzy places like that are douchebaggy and they were awesome. They let my wife and 2 year old ride with me free of charge and it started pouring on like the 8th hole and they gave me a full rain check for the next day.

One of my favorite courses of all time although super freaking hard was Princeville prince course, but they closed it down for some stupid reason. I played Poipu 9 years ago and it was really fun and nice, but not nearly as dramatic and awesome as the Princeville courses.

booked; eight nights @ Ewa Beach, airbnb, beach bach walking distance to the Ewa Beach course, then four nights @ Turtle Bay resort. Final few nights either in Honolulu or Waikiki.

stoked.

If you stay on Waikiki go play Ala Wai. It's walking distance and is a really easy little par 70 course. Makes you feel good about your game.

5,861yards, 115 slope
