hi guys,

im going to vegas from thursday nov 27th till tuesday dec 2nd and id like to take something more from it than just degening it up.

what shows or other worthwhile stuff is there to see?

are there any "regular" clubs in vegas or is it all super materialistic? i have the impression that every chick in vegas is a bimbo (since im from europe: urbandictionary: "A girl who is stupid, wears lots of make up and is obsessed with boys and clothes. Generally blonde but there are exceptions. Usually hang around i with other bimbos. You can spot them because they will be the big group of girls that all look the same and are giggling hysterically.").
i also have the impression that its all about money and all clubs are just about rich guys bragging and plastic chicks being semiwhores.

i might be all wrong obv but that is the impression one gets when all your input comes from tv and ****.
im really not into that kinda party and people i associate with being there. id rather enjoy a more laid back club with good (as in (mostly) not mainstream) hiphop or indie rock (which on the other hand can be mainstream but still godd, i.e. blocparty, the hives and such).

please tell me that it isnt so since otherwise i might in fact just play poker all the time.

oh and are the shows like cirque du soleil as awesome as they are told to be?

ive also made a post in mtt community asking for good $500+ tournaments in that timespan. post in there or here if you know of any.

all suggestions to an intresting vegas trip are welcome. thx

My friends punk band played a place called the Double Down iirc. Odds are if they were allowed on the stage, the place is not very "Vegasy"

Bunkhouse Saloon is an excellent place for live music and food in the downtown area, trust me on this.

I've seen all of the Cirque shows in Vegas - Mystere, "O", Zumanity, KA, and LOVE.

My preference, best first - "O", Mystere, KA, LOVE, and Zumanity.

For frames of reference, my two favorite Cirque shows, both available on DVD, are Quidam and La Nouba. Both of these were created by Franco Draggone who also created "O" and Mystere.

"O" is my favorite because I like its surrealism, performance art, and other-worldly music.

Mystere has better acrobatics than "O". It was the first Cirque show in Vegas. Given the ticket prices, this is probably the best value. It is my second favorite and is the lowest-priced of all the Vegas Cirque shows ($80 vs. $150 for "O" and KA).

KA has an amazing stage that continually transforms itself. Its tone is different than some of the other Cirque shows. Where "O" and Mystere stress beauty and artistry, KA focuses on aggression and conflict.

Even though I like Beatles music, I didn't particularly like LOVE. It opens with video/audio clips of WWII and is cacophonous and just plain noisy.

Zumanity is weird. It purports to celebrate human sexuality, but some of the performers are sexually unappealing.
