After an extensive process that almost made us cancel the wedding we've arrived at 6 honeymoon finalists. They were chosen for general excitement level, proper level of us feeling like they were romantic, and any number of highly scientific criteria. Please vote for the choice you think is best and post your case!

Amalfi Coast, Italy: Very nice, some very nice small romantic hotels

Barcelona, Spain: No, party town, not for honeymoons...

Cayo Largo, Cuba: Ok, nothing special though...

Cusco, Peru (Maccu Piccu): Only go if you're ok with heights and if you don't have a lung condition. People often underestimate it and collapse, especially if they do sports up there...any kind of sports...if you know what I mean

Lucerne, Switzerland: I'm Swiss, so a bit biased...but I wouldn't spend my honeymoon there. It's a very scenic city, and there's a few nice spa hotels if you're into that sort of thing. I'd rather go to a warm place myself.

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands: Caribbean is good, but St. Thomas is swarming with cruise passengers which is really annoying if you want a romantic honeymoon.

ALTERNATIVES:

Maldives >>> Secluded resorts, not too many people bothering you, great beaches and crystal clear water...go now before global warming floods 'em.

Seychelles >>> That would be my top choice. Best islands for a honeymoon!!

I like your feedback. OP picked the worst place in the Caribbean in St. Thomas. Think Turks and CAicos, BVI's, Barbados, or Jamaica if you are on a budget.

I would not go to Cuba. I would not go to Machu Pichu on a honeymoon. Will be too tired from other activities to hike the mountains.
