Renting a bike in Hanoi and going north from there is guaranteed to be an adventure.
You wouldn't regret south Vietnam (though I've spent far more time up north), but there's definitely plenty to kill 10 days with in the north.
Do you ride a bike in Hanoi? I just got here and would like to rent a bike but I'm a beginner rider - the traffic has an interesting flow and I'm sure I could manage. I guess what I'm asking is - was it hard to get a hang of at first? Any issues?
