Shocking I know.
I think the main 'attractions' like the Eiffel tower, Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral is what saved the trip and just might save Paris from taking the title.
But then you enter the subway...
Close call and I've been to many shiity places.
i somewhat agree. the tourist attractions and main area are what makes paris. it's pretty poor beyond that, i find.

i'm going to say jakarta, indonesia. saw rats on the street alot and when car head lights would show incredible amounts of smog at night......... having said that, there were alot of aspects of the city that i liked.

Lived in Augusta for three years, but it's not really a "city" most people had visited.

And for the record: I'm from Binghamton NY. I'm pretty sure that if you aren't from there and had ever visited, it would be near the top of this list.

Yeah, when I made my pick for Sharm El Sheikh, Kuta is the other city I thought of. I planned to stay there for 3 nights and only spent one. Headed to Ubud first thing in the morning.

London is a cool city, expensive but definitely worth the visit

I'm English and I think its a great place to visit. I can imagine its a bit of a grind living there though, I was a student there and enjoyed it for that length of time though.

Great place to visit as a tourist though. Been 3 times and would go back again in a heart beat.

LOL its not that bad in the whole scheme of touristy places by the sea. I could give you 10 worse with Blackpool being at the top of the list.

I'm not one to hate on cities, but Nampula Mozambique was pretty rough.

In Latin America, Managua is quite bad, but I enjoy it in a weird sort of way. It's basically a sprawling city with no city center but at the same time there basically is no safe way to get from place to place (walking, taxis, buses, etc--all dangerous). Which makes doing anything whatsoever quite difficult unless you have your own car (even then it's still difficult).

Marseilles, France is nothing but a huge trashcan. Horrible city. Most Italian cities are also awful - places like Naples, Milan or Turin are ****holes.

Paris is smelly and dirty, but it's good dirty - it's a very lively, diverse, fascinating city, tho if you went expecting the classiest city in the world I can understand the disappointment.

For the most boring city I've had the misfortune to visit I have to say Kota Bharu, Malaysia. There's absolutely nothing at all to do, no nightlife, zero entertainment, they're not even allowed to sell alcohol. Had to stay there for three days and almost died of sheer boredom.

I dont think Memphis should be mentioned as the worst in the US for the pure fact that they are home to some of the best BBQ in the country. There are other cities just as bad as Memphis but with no great food.

Edit: I realize this isn't a thread about dangerous cities, but I was curious and it's no surprise that Flint and Detroit are now 1 and 2.
lol 2 of my friends here in Vegas are from Flint, they agree it's a **** hole too

I've been to Milan only to shop for clothes and this alone would neglect it from being the worst city.

You went on a trip just to clothes shop? Not sure I've ever posted "ygos" before, but it seems mandatory here.

Sofia for sure. Also Canakale (Turkey) was awful. Dirty, dubious people and all-in-all not a good experience.

L.A.

i've been 3 times and still don't really get it. i'm sure there's some cool stuff you can find if you live there but i think it sucks as a visitor.

Spread out and pretty damn miserable people for the most part unfortunately.

san diego ftw

Erenhot, China

Cold as hell
Right next to mongolia
No good food, (or even local specialties for that matter)
lots of city mongorrians

Davis, CA

Cold winters, hot summers
Middle of goddamn nowhere
A large portion of this city smells like cow poop.

san diego ftw
-LA has good beaches and great weather + beautiful girls. Most tourist love Venice Beach
-Tons of hiking in the city offering spectacular ocean and/or city views. Including Griffith Park, the 2nd largest city park in the USA. This is something I don't think people realize when visiting LA. Some really nice hiking opportunities
-Arguably the best collection of theme parks in the world. Magic Mountain is probably the #2 park for roller coasters on the globe.
-Food from anywhere in the world including legit Mexican. Almost 100 languages are spoken in LA, can find anything food wise
-Every band in the world plays LA, numerous shows 7 days a week.
-Can do day trips to the beach, forests, mountains, desert, lakes.
-Some solid museums, The new Getty is worth a visit

LA does suck, but had to attempt to defend my home. Traffic and transportation does blow but the city does have a lot to offer visitors. It's just not handed to you on a platter like in other cities where you go to the center and stroll around on foot for a couple days, have to work for it!

I do love San Diego
