Heh, I went on a long rant about the 'Russian Depression' in BFI yesterday. Here are the relevant excerpts.

I need to clarify an inside meme: Russians' normal way to refer to Russia is 'our country'; the phrase 'this country' is used for this purpose only by liberals (or 'liberasts' / 'liberal hamsters', as Putinists call us, liberals) as we're feeling like citizens of the world born into a wrong country, detached from the majority of the people in the country who don't realise what they're doing to themselves.

Also, let me share a photo-report about a peculiar new residential semi-skyscraper at the north of St. Petersburg, posted by a famous liberal urbanist Ilya Varlamov, who calls the house none other than... The Dick House! (The nearby Thong House seen on the satellite map is not a residential but a hospital that was built there long ago.) Of course, the report is in Russian (warning: it and especially the comments contain explicit language) but the pictures alone will let you know that this name is appropriate for the house. Here's the report.

That project is awful, wouldn't want to live there. I hope you didn't planned to buy something like this at least buy an unity with view on the "outside" so your plants can actually get some sun. My residential complex is Э-shaped and my view is on the outside... the plants aren't going to get much light, though, because the window faces west-northwest and there's a tree in front of it. There aren't going to be any tall buildings in front of the window, though.
