Portugal vs South Italy vs South France

I and the g/f are deciding on where to go for 1 week. I have been to Rome and love it. Milan sucked imo. I've also been to South Spain and it was ok. I've never been to South France. I love Brazil (I have no idea if Portugal resembles it). I am mentioning this stuff to give you idea of my preferences. If you have been to these places please share your impressions.

I would prefer the south of France, the south of Portugal is more party oriented, I wouldn't go there with my G/F, I haven't traveled much around the south of Spain. The French Riviera and Cote D'azure is very very European, very elegant and the food is really good.
