Jeeez, I think someone needs to make a phone call if they don't know, please don't do it via facebook.

I have spoken to both his mother and sister on the phone and told them everything I know, noone was with him when it happened and we don't really know anything apart from the tragic outcome

Just 3 weeks in bad luck. Mom must be going crazy
02-06-2012 , 10:40 AM
Didn't know him but sorry to hear about that. Could have been me with a little bad luck, I was pretty careful but still rode on bikes a few times when I was there. Let's learn from this and not ride bikes in third world countries.

horrible news. rip

i've always been terrified of bikes, especially in phuket, never learned to drive one.

the vast majority of people i've met in thailand who have a bike have also crashed it at least once.

I cant imagine live in phuket without scooter.
Even if i had possibility to rent car and bike for similar price id choose bike i think.
Cars are very unhandy for me atm

This has to be terrible for his family and friends. I was one of the original two 2+2ers to move to Phuket and I remember commenting on how scary the roads were and how many accidents and people unconscious in the road I'd seen. That was almost exactly 5 years ago and I'm almost surprised it's taken this long for a tragedy to happen. Stay safe guys and think about ways to reduce your risks.
