wow im so glad that i found this thread.

just to share the information with the 2p2,i just found a game in taichung that plays 100/200 nl with about 5 fishes a table. unfortunately it has the infamous 5% no cap rake...i am sure it still will be profitable for you guys to play though. u see people coldcalling $6000 4 bets with 55 with 7k behind. lol/

i also play at some small home games, usually 25/50 nl. i live in taipei, but i go taichung all the time for poker action since i am unemployeed. i got arrived taiwan couple month ago btw

oh, and with regards to fine chicks, i wouldnt suggest those all-u-can-drink clubs, as the girls' level are significantly lower than those you run into at better clubs. for high quaility chicks i will just go to primo and possibly barcode. those girls are hoooot, although more pricy, they are probably cleaner too, as they all think they are hardtogets to local taiwanese boys. anyways, if there is a 2p2 meet up be sure to let me know!

Taipei is expensive. During our research for homes we came across a 3 story, 5 bedroom MONSTER of a house for 300$USD/month in a medium-sized city just 50 KM northwest. The prices you pay for big city life ...

I play on FTP and no problems at all. And by no problems I mean I have absolutely zero delay at all times of the day.
which area do you live in specifically?

Cool...
In the past, I used to just go to 18 or primo without a table and it got ridiculously crowded...

Thinking of just getting a table with some friends when i head over this time...

Lemme know if you are interested..and I'll have some friends set it up

Hey guys, i will be flying into taipe from the states january 30th. I didnt think they had poker there, but reading here caught my interest. I've been to macau a few times but would prefer to try another place. What is the best way to find a game without a killer rake? Or if anyone would want to meet up. I travel more as a backpacker, having spent the last 3 or 4 years around asia, and just got back from guatemala.

Hello to everyone in Taipei right now. I just came here and atm know 0 people from this country. If there's any players around it would be cool to meet. Also it would be cool to know a little bit where to go etc. Im planning to stay here as long as i think this place is cool (i have been 8 months in bkk and i got a little bit bored even though its a great place so i decided to give this city a try).

Kharlog,

Would you care to do a run down on how Taipei compares to BKK? What's worse and what's better?

Konig, Ill try to do that after I get a better picture of this city. Right now ive only been here for 1 day so cannot say much... Other than All-you-can drink is nice and girls are v hot and dress well + quite easy / slutty and free (no freelancers like a lot of girls in bkk)...

Anyone going to the Pingxi (sp?) Lantern Festival on Feb. 28?

To anyone who has been before: what is the bus situation like to and from Taipei? Will we have trouble getting back to Taipei on Sunday night after the festival? We plan on going down early, but coming back might be a problem with the amount of people that are probably going to be there.

Rye,

Public Transportation in TW is generally very good but will usually stop after certain hours. IME with festivals they will usually have buses back to Taipei but never past like 10 PM. The one place I know that should be able to answer your question immediately is: http://www.forumosa.com/taiwan/
