Hello,
I am an American living in Thailand. I have been there about three years. I am also in the process of getting a second residence in Vietnam. I have a few items left in the USA that I need to either get rid of of ship over. I assume I have about a standard pallet of stuff stacked maby 3'-4' high.

Im currently in USA waiting to buy a ticket to travel back to Thailand or Vietnam as soon as I can. I was considering paying to ship some stuff on the plane that I fly on but I am unfamiliar with the process. I was also considering trying to just ship a pallet overseas.

Some items like my personal junk and papers I could probably fit inside an extra suitcase and some items like my vinal records are in travel cases and could probable be shipped on an airline aswell. However I also have some tools and automotive parts that I dont think would be able to be packaged to go on an airline.

I am willing to consider shipping to either Thailand or Vietnam. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
Gregers

It depends how heavy the stuff is. How many checked bags at 23kg would it be? Check all your flight options and then check how much it would cost total for 3 checked bags. You usually get 2 free bags on sky team flights w/ at least one long haul leg (or at least I do when they originate from europe, it may be different when originating in USA). I think the 3rd bag is usually around 100 euro and optional.

You can also just separate which stuff is priority and take that in 2 checked bags now and the rest next time (if you go back semi-often) or leave extra checked bags w/ someone you know will be flying to wherever you are somewhat soon.

I can't imagine shipping a pallet is cheaper but I've never done anything like that so maybe I"m wrong. I do know additional checked bags (after the 2nd) are usually quite expensive (in the 100ish range) and a lot of airlines cut you off at 3 total.
