Now because it's a casino Viets are not allowed to go there to gamble, that's the law. If you really want to know more you should ask it in the Da Nang expat group on fb.

Apparently companies should do that when sending money in Vietnam (fkn lol). So my bank started to ask me questions, I spent a ton of time dealing with the customer service of the site and my bank, trying to resolve it but at the end my bank was asking me proofs that me and the site was unable to give (or proofs that I could..). At the same time I received an other bank transfer from an Ipoker skin with the same bank, not the first time and as usual my bank transferred it to my account no questions asked by my bank.
So my advice to anyone doing bank transfers here, if it's the first time that you do one with a site do a small amount (not 1 month expenses as I did ) as a test then if you receive it it's unlikely that you will have problems in the future with this site and your bank.
What reasons did u give your bank then ? And mind sharing how did u manage to solve the first transaction that got put on hold?

What I said doesn't matter because at the end it didn't work. Only the first bank transfer from the new site got put on hold, the second one (from Ipoker, I did plenty of transfers, never had any problems) I had no problem they transferred it to my account while holding the first one since a week.

I visited there a couple times in mid-2018. It's a pretty small casino with table games and slot machines - no live poker.

Do you reckon the bank/authorities will take action against foreigners for online gambling when they detect such transactions ?

I don't know.. But in my case, so far I didn't have any problems except the money lost from this transfer. It would be smarter to stop doing direct bank transfers from sites and just use crypto currencies to cash out imo.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with the medical/pharmacy facilities in Vietnam? I plan on moving to Da Nang for a year starting in September but I have not fully recovered from two neck surgeries last year. I still need pain meds after workout days. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Don't have the details yet. Just the plane ticket. As soon as I do I'll post. I'm directing and switching the video in the screens in the arena so it should be a good sized venue.

Can i ask what did he do wrong since he was basically using the "tournament style" form of play like the poker clubs are doing?

I was there a few weeks ago and talking to some of the expat players it sounds like whoever is at the head of these poker rooms have someone high up in their business who is very well connected to someone from the Government. As soon as either of those parties leave/lose their job it puts the poker club in jeopardy of being raided.

Just a quick update about my banking problem. After taking a few days off I had the pleasant surprise when logged in to my site to see that my bank sent back to money to the site who credited it back to my account. So apparently ghosting my bank when I was unable to give proofs was the gto way to deal with my case.

So basically just try for a small amount first and if the funds get suspended, totally ignore the bank's request for a proper explanation and hopefully it gets refunded?

Visited HCMC for a few days. Saw the War Remnants Museum and got some great views from the Skydeck. Pro tip: Best time to go to observation decks is near dusk so you get both day and night pictures if you time it right. Notre Damn Cathedral is under construction so couldn't go inside. Bounced around a couple hostels, Saigon Fantastic Hostel is great value for 80k a night if you just need a bed and shower. Overall a busy bustling city.

Took the ferry to Vung Tau for 220k, wasn't even a third full and more fun also faster than a bus. Visited the Vung Tau Lighthouse and Christ Jesus Statue. I was able to get 3 different hitches up and down the mountain to the lighthouse then the last one to the Jesus Statue. Tried the next day and got nothing so its hit or miss. Only stayed one night at Gold Hotel for 200k in a single private room. Ate at Cỏ Mây Vegetarian Restaurant and got a very good tofu and mushroom soap.

Flew to Danang via Vietjet and of course it got delayed. Arrived 2 hours later than scheduled. Flight cost 36 usd. Looking for a place month to month around here and will visit Hue and Hoi An. Will eventually like to go to Ba Na Hills and experience the longest non stop cable car and see the Golden Bridge.

Haven't been offered drugs since I've been here which is a huge difference from Phnom Penh where you get offered every time you walk outside. No one's hassled me in either of these 3 cities. It feels nice to be left alone. People seem respectable and polite so far. Enjoying Vietnam for the moment.

Sounds like a great trip, should have let me know you were coming. The ferry to vung tao is across from the plaza with the statue of ho chi minh?

I don't remember a statue nearby. I looked at a street view from Feb. 2017 and it's completely renovated.

GreenLines DP - Ticketing Office is what it will show in google. Bach Dang Speed Ferry Terminal is a circular building you can walk in and get your ticket. No need to do it online or anything. I got there at 8:30am and got the 10am next one out. It should never be sold out, there are maybe 100 seats on the catamaran. Free wifi/outlets to charge phone and they give you a water. Price is a little higher on weekends. Nice to relax in the open coffee shop they have while waiting.

Here's where you can find the departure schedule:

Visited Hue for a day and stayed at Amy's Hostel for 82k. I went to the Imperial City, tickets are 150k and I spent a couple hours there. Didn't see anything else, just walked around the rest of the time. I think Hue can be done in a day if you want to visit the former imperial capital and learn some history on Vietnam. I got there via train from Da Nang for 122k, you take the Hai Van Pass which gives you some nice views.

Next I took a sleeper bus from Hue to Hoi An for 99k and it took 3 hours. I used TheSinhTourist travel buses, they have the best reviews and the others had some negative stories. Hoi An is a very touristy place. There are a ton of expats here living and working too. It does have a very cool vibe with all the lantern lights around the night market. Saw the Japanese bridge which is a 18th century bridge. It didn't seem that impressive, but it is a symbol of the city.

I ate at the place Anthony Bourdain visited on one of his shows when he was in Hoi An and got the classic banh mi for a dollar. It was very crowded and tasted like any other banh mi, but paid respect to AB a fellow traveler. I stayed at Cloudy hostel for 140k which is a bit far away, but I came into Hoi An without a room and everything was booked at the first 3 places I visited. It was a weekend so there were more travelers coming in. Cloudy Hostel does offer basket bikes for free so it was nice cycling around for the first time in a very long time. Took the local bus back from Hoi An to Da Nang for 20k. I met a group of 6 girls on the bus from HCMC who asked if I wanted a ride in their van they ordered from the bus stop to their place close to the beach, that was nice and saved some walking as I usually opt to walk everywhere I can instead of always ordering taxis.

Still need to see a couple things in Da Nang like Marble Mountains and Ba Na Hills. Life is good, hope everyone is doing well in Vietnam.
