Rake: 70% of the entry fees collected go into the prize pool, with the rest going towards rake.
I predict this game to be unbeatable.

Yes - I hope they will change it but according to what I understand the Poker club has to give a part of the fee as tax (Authorities) + a cut to the Federation then they need cover their costs without running Cash Games...

In other news Poker King Club just announced that they are opening in Halong. Very few info so far but it's interesting.

It's very likely part of a global deal involving the parent company Suncity Group who will bring Chinese gambler to the casino in Halong.

This was several years ago but I grinder stars online with no problem in phu quoc. The place i was staying at had good enough WiFi if I was near the lobby but had to tether to my 3g if I wanted to play from my room.

I have played there, 80% of the players are totally fishes, 15% bad regs and 5% good experienced online players. And those good players tend to shy away from the game because of the rake, so the field will mostly be fishes.
So it is still very beatable. The only problem is that the buy in is too small ($50, $100 and $150 daily tournaments), so even if you have a huge post-rake 100% ROI then you will still make only ~$200/day playing 10 hours+. I'd rather play cash games in that case, until they have higher buy in tournaments (which they did promise to organize in the next few months).

It seems as if it might be on microgaming's end, as they have removed themselves from the Phils as well, I believe (look into that thread, but I am pretty sure they cancelled their services there just about when you posted ITT).

If there is, it would be in a private home game and you would need to get invited to that. I spent a couple of months in Nha Trang 3 years back and never heard of a game, so I would say no.

It's not an official policy from Microgaming to not offer service to Vietnam - I had issues like this during one or two weeks in may and he went back to normal.

Need to go to Vietnam tomorrow and maybe just got played on my visa or maybe not. For the normal invitation letter murica was not on the list of countries. Called them and they said as of Aug 26th Americans can only apply and receive 1 year multiple entry visas at a charge of $135.
Can anyone confirm?
Kind of cool that I can get a 1yr me so easily though.

Yeah I can confirm, just did a trip and am American. Rules changed last month for Americans - they only do the multiple entry 1 year for us now. Multi entry is awesome if you live in Asia, like Vietnam, and plan on going back within the next year. Even better if you plan on moving there to grind

Confirmed. Good for us who stay here long term; bad for tourist who want to visit as they are stuck with the same visa.

Currently they dont offer any other visa to Americans. Also, relevant info is that currently they do not allow extensions on it. So you must exit VN every 90 days.

Apologies if this has already been answered a thousand times in this thread buuuut - is there any particular area I should stay in Hanoi? I will be there just for a few days, want to party/have fun/see cool things and I don't know anything about the city/where to book my hostel and just wondering if there's an area in particular that sticks out.

Hanoi from what I heard are pretty boring. It the capital so any nightclub going to close early. Come to HCMC is way more fun for nightlife.

You should look for something in the Old Quarter. Plenty of bars, hostels and it is close to clubs and sightseeing stuff.
