food tour seems dumb expensive when thailand has half day cooking classes for less than half the price. I've had friends taking me around the last few days and I'm sure I missed plenty of stuff a tour would have covered, but it was also free to just hop on their scooter and cruise around for the day being shown stuff and eating. They def seem proud of their food here and got really bummed when I wouldn't try the duck egg fetus, random BBQ meats, prefer chicken pho to beef, and don't eat pork. Thai friends seemed more accomodating - when friends here are just like 'whaaaaaaat the **** man, chicken pho isn't even a real thing!' Whatever, I tried ostrich and that was good. BBQ octopus is my new favorite food
I think a couple people here live in da nang - I'm getting in tomorrow and may use the city as a base for a couple weeks. Tons of decent guesthouses I know, but any recs for a high rise type hotel with a dope view? Prefer 10th floor or higher <$20/night. kinda random I know, just plan on grinding a bit and like a view
the duck egg thing at a friends house. maybe 'homemade' is grosser, but went to a normal restaurant with backpackers one night and it didn't look nearly as gross, although nobody even came close to finishing theirs.
