Havent been in a good while but el gaucho was pretty great, Argentinian steakhouse place but can be pricey, not sure if thats the one coinflipper was talking about.

Baozi would be more mid range but they have really good food and had a good atmosphere when i was there. I went to the one on hai ba trung.

any recommendations on a website where I could look for a studio apartment for 4 months in Nha Trang? reasonably cheap, reasonably close to beach (is $300/800m from beach/1.5km from center achievable?).

As I know, there are not many casinos in this Asian country. But, I did find a casino-like place in Danang; it is the Crown International Club in Ngu Hanh Son (五行山) District.
The most well-established casino in the country is obviously in Haiphong, while the others, Ha Long Bay casino and Grand Ho Tram Strip, were recently started being built

Casinos don't have poker. Poker clubs it is. 2/4 and 1/2 usd usually.

@Gregers

thanks man!

To people living (currently or in the past) in Nha Trang, after superficially looking at rental ads I deduced that there must be no residential buildings in this area as I've only found 1 or 2 apartments for rent in the red area and pretty much everything is either on north, south or west. Is that correct?

@marecki there are tons of apartments/condotels/hotel rooms per month for rent. You can either look around on your moto bike and have a look in any area you want. There are many facebook groups with nha trang expats looking for rentals so have a look there as well.

I've already done some research and visited one place within the red square less than 2hrs ago but that looked like a house that was remodeled to make mini apartments out of regular rooms I suppose. Outside that area there are indeed tons of flats for rent but they're all 1200m+ from the beach (except some that are on the north side of the bridge). I was wondering if there are any tall blocks of flats within the red square.

Hi Marecki!

I lived in Nha Trang for a year. I used Nhatrangrenting.com. Agents took a small standard fee but prices seemed ok. At the time when I lived there end of 2017 to early 2019, the premier place to rent was at “ The Costa “ and “ Nha trang Center”. Before I left there were a few places that just finished building further down the main beach street named Tran Phu. It was by the VinCom mall on that street. There are lots of deals, prices and agent fees...

Some places also have more Chinese tourists and the consensus is that it’s a bit louder in those places because of cultural differences.

Thanks Robbie. Actually the thing is I can't find any ads near that place so if there indeed are condos for rent then they must be out of the price range I was looking for, like 8m+ or smth! Pretty much everything is either in north or Phuoc Hai, Phuoc Long or Vinh Hiep areas.

Thx Loc0dice!

One more question, what do you guys think about living on the north side of the bridge? Never been there but heard it's a shithole (no offence), no big stores etc, can get a condo close to beach there though

I lived on the north side of the bridge with my wife’s family. The beach isn’t AS nice as the other side( only matters may-August). There’s a few good food spots along the strip. I think there was a big beach front for 400usd a month there with a few more nearing completing. I think you should try it. Be careful of where you get your food from, make sure it’s fresh and not from a contaminated source.

North is ok and cheap but far from everything (15min with bike lol). Beware of ppl stealing stuff in the north because of junkies. And yes north is semi shithole for sure.

another question - best websites to look for used bikes for sale? preferably from expats so I could buy a little cheaper and lose less when I sell at the end. the fb groups suck bc there's 1 bike listing every 5 apartment listings

No idea but look for nha trang expats facebook page, but its aimed at expats which is always more expensive. Maybe go around some bike shops and ask around and then make your own judgement whats best.

Not sure about this specific one, but coinatmradar is fairly accurate when it pertains to international atm's : https://coinatmradar.com/country/232...n-atm-vietnam/

edit : apparently there are 6 atms in Saigon. This said, your fees will (most likely) always be cheaper if you find an exchange business.

With VBTC you can exchange your BTC for cash at a coffee shop in Dakao. For 1k$ I was paying around 100k in fees with the exchange and then around 200k fees with the coffee shop.
