I meant get money on stars.

I read most of this thread, but want to make sure before I leave I don't have trouble depositing onto stars.

Anyone who has done it in the last few years who can give me some tips?

You can deposit on Stars via Neteller or Skrill but you can't deposit or withdraw from Neteller or Skrill to your Vietnamese bank account.

Nice. Did your partner make a transfer recently? A few months ago I tried to withdraw to 2 different banks, both blocked the transactions. I checked in the expats and locals group on fb and viets were saying that VN banks blocked all transactions to / from Neteller and Skrill.

I believe Vietnamese bank accounts that deposit to Skrill for non-gambling activities cash out to their bank perfectly fine.

Hi all, newly registered to the forum and new to Vietnam for the foreseable future, living near HCM, was in Hong Kong for a while grinding cash games on Stars for the past ten years. Since Stars shut down access from HK this past May, I haven’t been playing. I’ve since changed my registered location to Vietnam, after jumping through numerous hoops, in order to verify my change in home location. Anyways, I was hoping to seek assistance from some local Stars players here, as I have limited means to deposit / fund my Stars account. I don’t have a credit card here yet, I only have a local bank account with Timo/VPBank. Anybody know of a reputable person/company in which I can buy Stars dollars for VND cash? Also, vice versa, should the time arise for withdrawals, can the same person/company assist with this as well? Sorry for the newbie post, but I can’t find anything online and was hoping the poker bros familiar with the scene can help. And no, I want also to avoid getting ripped off by some random local...thanks so much! Happy to buy beers to gain some local insight as well

Can you get a long term visa in Vietnam or do you have to leave every 3 months ?

I live in Thailand now on a 1 year non-imm visa.

A few months ago the government suspended the Business Visa program (6/12 months visa). So right now you only have the 3 months tourist visa that you can extend via an agent. The laws here constantly change like you change your underwear so who knows..? long term business visas could be back soon or visa extensions not possible for a while as it happens sometimes for the lulz

No idea, same as a few months ago for 6/12 months business visa, it's depends of your nationality and your agent as well. I would advise you to join the local fb group for expats in the city where you live and ask there about it. You can extend too the business visas issued before the new visa law (a few months ago). I didn't know about it before to do a visa run last month.. lol Never tough that you can extend this kind of visas but apparently you can

Thanks, so it's getting tougher in VN also, not just Thailand. Strange they don't want us there , foreigners who contribute to the economy should be welcomed.

No it's not getting tougher. It's like Thailand 5-6 years ago. You can live here on tourist visas, can do infinite number of border runs if you want, no questions asked / no need to show x amount of money when coming back. The only difference is that you can extend your visa (when it's possible, if not you just do a visa run).

3 month extension on a s/entry tourist visa is in the $300ish ball park through a travel agent...not sure how many times it's extendable (if at all) without leaving.
