I did it a lot with Ipoker. Overall banking fees cost ~$60 then after deducting the banking fees you get close to xe.com rate for the currency conversion. And yeah banking fees are the same if you withdraw $200 or $1.5k.

If you are single and looking for a LTR I would advise you to move to Saigon first, spend some time here, when you have found a girl who is gf material and spend some time together then move with her to a coastal towns. The reason why is if you are in a LTR with a girl from Da Nang the chance are high that she comes from there and is living with her family if so good luck having her staying all night in your apartment if you are not married, even if her family knows you well. If you are not looking for a LTR then forget about it. To live long term I would choose Da Nang over Saigon. Vung Tau would be a better option imo, 2h by bus from Saigon, nice beach and the price are the same maybe a little bit cheaper than Da Nang. Vung Tau had a bad reputation a few years ago, dirty beach, but they fixed it now the beach is as clean as the one in Da Nang.

Viettel for internet. Skrill and Neteller are blocked by Vietnamese banks even to withdraw. All major sites are accessible from here.

Yes Skrill / Neteller work. Viettel for both. Can use Mobifone as well for mobile if you want.

Hey guys!

Lost my old account here just created a new one so can't PM anyone.

Things is I'm living in Sydney - Australia out of live cash games and tourneys and looking to move to Vietnam to play online tournaments again. Not sure where yet.

Really motivated and self disciplined as myself it would be cool someone join with the same goal as CRUSH online tournaments. To share an apartament, discuss hands and improve together.

If you are looking to move to Vietnam with the same goal PM me.

Hey dude. Check out ShroomTheRiver on twitch. I know he's planning on making the move to SEA soon and was looking for people to do exactly the same thing. Good luck, would love to do it but having a long term girlfriend makes it tricky!!

Anyone know how to get money to my US bank? I work here and get paid in cash. I opened a BIDV account but they are bad at customer service and don't speak English. I'm thinking paypal might work, if I can link bidv to paypal. Or a check and do a mobile upload, but my company is clueless about checks.

Planning on moving to Vietnam in a month. What's the best bank for a tourist visa? What's the easiest way to get money on stores.

Super appreciate any help.

For the banks, I would advise you to open an account with one of the top 2 biggest Vietnamese banks, Vietinbank or Vietcombank. Other ones are less professional and have often bugs with their system. Open an account in a branch in D1, there the chances are higher that the staff speak fluent in English which will be useful if one day you have any problems with your account. Not sure how easy is to open an account with a tourist visa but if they refuse just try an other branch until one accepts you.

What else do you like about Saigon?

Just got to Saigon as well, will be here for a month or two... maybe longer.. anyone want to link up for some craft brews or street beers let me know.. also looking for a place to rent if anyone has good leads.

Do they do month to month rentals here?? or is it always by lease for certain amount of months

There's Airbnb for one month stays, no deposit, I'd use that rather than deal with landlords and paying a deposit. Just pick one with lots of good reviews
