hello guys. Is online gambling illegal in vietnam? Can foreigners still play online poker without any legal consequence? I can not find any information. I only find that foreigners can gamble in brick and mortar casino, but I never found anything about online poker.
I want to come and visit, but worried about playing. It sounds silly i know, but I am just weary of getting into a bad situation.
Has any foreigner ever been imprisoned or fined for playing online?
Any info would be appreciated, thanks

HI all! I am looking to travel to Vietnam to play the WPT Vietnam event at Crown Poker Club in May.

Just wondering if someone can confirm if there will be cash games at the casino? I keep reading different things about cash games in Vietnam but just wanted to confirm so can bring proper bankroll. Any help is much appreciated!

I played a tournament in HCMC before covid. They got around the laws by taking 10% of all buy ins as the rake then people were allowed to play for a fixed time. No idea if Hanoi does it the same way, or if HCMC even does it the same way now.

They are a couple of online stories in SEA. Foreigners are easy target for that in third world countries, just keep a low profile and you won't have any problem.
Can you expand on these stories pls? Are u talking about foreigner being in trouble for playing online poker? Thanks

Hey,
Do you have any information about only pro in vietnam? I would like to expatriate there but I can't find any information about long-term visas for poker players and how to become a tax resident.

Anybody grinding in Vietnam right now?
I wanted to move to Vietnam and play online for a year. How feasible is this? How do I go about depositing? What do I tell the landlord?

I am a UK citizen, with a UK bank account. Should I go on a travel visa and periodically extend it? I am completely lost with all this stuff but I know for sure people grind online from Vietnam

I am 22 but will be 23 by then and would have just finished university at McGill in Montreal, although I am originally from London in the UK. I have been playing poker for years now which included taking a year between school and university to play and develop my game. The main focus for this trip for me is to fully commit to poker and get closer to being able to play professionally. I am currently playing 50NL reg tables on stars.

I am pretty social and love music and sport. I watch lots of football and am a big Fulham FC fan. Would love to go somewhere where I could play football casually as well. I usually love a night out but that isn’t what I want for this trip as I want to be fully committed to poker. That being said I’m not opposed to a pint after a long day.

I’m thinking Vietnam would be a really cool place to go, specifically Da Nang. Very cheap, good food, nice beaches. Open to anywhere though if anyone has recommendations.

Let me know if anyone’s interested in joining or has any advice. I will set up a discord for people who want to join so we can start planning and arranging everything.

Cheers
Ben
