I could say something about this as i have lived almost 10years in Philippines, places like Cebu, Manila, Angeles and Davao offcourse all places have changed a lot in ten years... so my info might not be so up to date.
Cebu was first place i 'lived', when i first moved there i had this fantasy about going to beaches and play live poker(internet connections were terrible back then)... But i ended up staying in city far from nice beaches.

Angeles was cheaper than Cebu and Manila and easy to get girls for little money(other places they usually ask more), also smallest of the places(obv no beach, though you could go subic). But now it is bit rundown by koreans.

Davao i have been longest and still live here. It used to be the most 'peaceful' but now here is quite many constructions going on and traffic is getting worse(not as bad as Manila obv), you can get to Samal island just in 15min ferry ride. Nightlife is probably worst of these as every bar closes before 1am. but at least it used to be more cheaper than Cebu and Manila. I think is the safest places of these(though obv there are some very safe areas in Manila(but obv some not safe at all))

Manila can be heaven or hell depending where do you live, i stayed near casinos and Moa and was nice... though seems prices are going up there as they open new casino and mall etc.

I would say nightlife would be Angeles(tough if you not like gogo bars or prostitutes, probably not)>Manila>Cebu>Davao

Cost of Living Manila>Cebu>Angeles(depending how much you 'party')>Davao

Live poker obv in Manila then Angeles, Cebu and Davao have like only one place to play and usually not very high limits

Obv. Manila has most flight options but all other have some international and domestic flights as well(When i first visited Davao they only had flight to Singapore but nowadays many more).

Also i would suggest Cagayan de Oro as potential place to live

I don't. This said, the odds of him not doing something are much greater than the odds of him actually doing something

So I started doing some counting a while ago, when all in on the flop villain has gotten there with a FD 26 out of 28 times, I have gotten there 1 in 18 times.

Just now I 4 bet AAxx, one caller, flop comes A62, all in on flop and villain shows 6244, I lose to quad 4s..

Im down so much cash the last month, makes me wanna puke

Anyone with experience on Upwork? I got accepted in a few days ago, I might get a job offer later if everything goes smooth, but I cant rely on it. I have just written that I can do translator jobs, but would like to become a VA, seems kinda hard with no experience.

I've used Upwork as my primary source of income for over two years. The escrow service makes it safe and scam-free. In my experience, having a history of good feedback on your profile is #1 in importance. So, take all the easy cheap jobs you can get to start out and get some good ratings, then you can increase your rates.

Any specific questions?

I think I said it before but with the fee structure and the low pay it's hardly worth it if you aren't speaking multiple first world languages and get a very steady gig.

You will work for 400-450 USD post fees a month most likely, competing with desperate filipinos. To make $1000 (the bare minimum imo for a first world guy) you will need experience and luck.

Anything above poverty pay in my experience is for skilled people, as in people with computer science masters degrees from Russia that have actual work experience.

Teaching English in Korea or China is 1000x easier and better paid than these types of jobs. You just need a BA in something random, which I remember you don't have?

Cheap and easy jobs like what? With no experience, it seems kinda to find anything at all.
The 400-450 USD jobs, isn't this more like support chat and such? After doing some research it seems like many are earning 20 an hour and more doing VA etc. Of course, difficult to land these jobs.

Yes, I have no BA.

Complete some tests relevant to your skills, get your profile to 100% and verified, apply for the lowliest paid no skill jobs like fake amazon reviews, article writing etc. FOR PEOPLE / COMPANIES WITH A SOLID HISTORY.

There are lots of nitpicking wannabe entrepreneurs that have sky high expectations and will give you bad feedback for a $10 project. Stay away from anyone without extensive positive feedback, a very clear job description etc.

Trust me it's not worth it dealing with nitpicking cheapskates as you can't remove bad feedback until you have cleared serious money.

Your best option pay wise might be sales gigs as a native speaker but making hundreds of calls with an auto dialer talking to people that really don't want to talk to you is definitely not for the faint of heart.

If you have the time I suggest getting a cheap accredited BA asap from https://www.wgu.edu/ or https://www.uopeople.edu/ so you have the option to teach English.

Thanks, man, I will look into these sites. I think my native language can give me some jobs, but no luck so far.

I found this job after I searched "poker"

"I want a program that can convert hands played on online poker site into txt format, which will then be converted into pokertracker4 database, and then have poker tracker 4 be able to detect the table and place the Headsup Display over the table."

Didn't write how much he would be paying

How are you finding CM compared to Manila and wherever you were in Vietnam? Any favorites?

Wrote the below before searching and indeed you're a fellow norseman. feel free to pm me your contact info if u want to, I'm currently living in Cambodia grinding small stakes plo, been playing online on and off since 2008, am 29 now, lived in thailand a few months when I was 20.

This is something I've considered to do on the side; tons of expats leaving and arriving both our cities by the day, I have no experience only interest in it but it seems very likely to me there's a good opportunity wrt flipping householditems with expats. May be a bad idea for you though as I think interest is key to stick with it while actually learning the trade, and while you may have the interest you likely dont as you'd probably think of it yourself.

"Are you norwegian by chance? remember finding this thread when it was just a few weeks old, and you seemed very norwegian (I'm norwegian, not an insult if it could be taken as one^^) , sorry if it's been mentioned already"

I really like Chiang Mai so far, good food, not so freaking hot(At least now in the rain season) and the traffic is better than all the other places. The downside is that it's a lot of tourists here, but whatever, it's okay. Chiang Mai might be my favourite.

If I extend my visa I might go to Pattaya later, seems like a good place to go busto.

I stayed for 3 months there, haha! Didn't have so much to write about, other than whining about variance, might be the reason my stay seemed so short. I liked the city overall and might be heading back later. When are you planning to might go there? Any questions just ask!

I'm heading to da nang in a couple of weeks. What area would you recommend staying in? & is wifi at the hotels generally good enough for grinding or what did you rely on for that?

I stayed in Hau Chai(City side), it's more developed, less construction going on, more resturants and less tourists. It's no problem staying at beach side either, but If your not gonna spend alot of time at the beach, I see no reason to stay there over Hai Chau. Rain season is starting also and the beach wont be much fun,I guess. Wifi was always good and never heard anyone complain about it. However, there might be some power cuts, so just use a hotspot as backup. Edit: Hai Chau 1 was the area I stayed in
