Hey guys.

Tijuana House:

I got two more rooms available. I am looking for several months of commitment. I am renting the rooms for $200 + utilities. The rooms are unfurnished. I am asking for $200 for first month plus a $300 deposit.

I currently have two roommates, "game2eazy" and "Aaralynn". I also have a friend, "shumme101", who lives in San Diego and commutes down here to play. I was able to get all their poker accounts setup rather easily. They were ready to play within 24 hours.

We have already made plans on hiring a cook/cleaner/assistant to make grinding easier. The new roommates would have to agree to put in their share of the cost. The cost has yet to be determined but, I would assume will be fairly cheap.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

Looks like Xolos tickets are easier to come by this season, seeing they missed the playoffs and less people got Xolo Passes.

I went through ticketmaster.mx, and picked them up couple days before at the Ghandi Bookstore (next to Liverpool Duty Free, which is next to Costco parking lot in TJ). Assume you can just roll up to Estadio Caliente during business hours and get them sans fees there in person.

hey everyone.

"T.J House"

I have been posting since around December about the rooms I have for rent on a fixer upper home I rented. I have made significant improvements to the house since then.

The house now has a total of 6 functional rooms, washer and Dryer, a Gym room that includes treadmill, bow flex and weight machine.

The house is located walking distance from the Tijuana Race Track and Casino. There are plenty of food places to go eat, mall, and grocery store walking distance. We also have and OXXO "7 eleven" like two or three blocks away.

At the moment I have two rooms available. I am now asking for $350.00 a month utilities are included. I am also asking for a one month deposit. The rooms are unfurnished but I can probably accommodate you with a bed for a few days for you to have time to shop for one.

I am looking for a few months commitment, not really interested in short terms but might be willing for the right price. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a cleaning lady/cook that comes 4-5 days a week. The roommates must agree to pay $10.00 a day per roommate for each day that she comes to work. Her job is to cook/clean, but on occasion she ends up driving her car to get items that we are missing. For that, we give her tips here and there.

With regards to the food, since its a tricky situation, we try to keep it as fair as possible. So far no issues regarding this topic.

My ideal roommate is one that is here to work, a clean person and above all respectful to everyone in general, not just the people that are living in the house.

If you are interested feel free to PM me for more information.

I've seen a few things posted about this, but how feasible would it be to live in TJ and commute to SD for work? Let's say I had to be at work by 9 AM or 12 PM and would head back to TJ at 5-6 PM or 9 PM.

There's thousands of people per day who do that exact thing. The Rush Hour goes that way (North in the a.m., South in the late afternoon/early evening), so if you have to be at work by 9 and back by 5-6, it'll be a bit more traffic (including in TJ itself). Noon-9 pm would pretty much be traffic-free. Still manageable either way.

You need to apply for the Sentri card to make it work, allows you to take the fast lane going North. Though there seem to be people doing Ready Lane/walking across commutes as well (just takes a lot longer).

Thanks for the reply. It looks like a place I could most likely get hired is only 10 miles from where the edge of Tijuana closest to the USA. Now I'm getting tempted..

how is this, as a poker player is it easy to get a pass to cross whenever

-How is the nightlife there guys, is it still dead due to Americans being scared or is the nightlife bumping again?

There's a number of Rosarito grinders can speak to the TJ nightlife better (all aspects) - as far as getting a pass, it *should* take ~4 months and be fine saying it's for poker so long as you have a clean record and are honest, etc. Don't think it's really different than the whole Canada/Nexus Pass background check.

Maybe it's different for other people, mine was smooth (getting Nexus Pass being honest 2+ ago, then vehicle registration with no questions to get Sentri as well). If you're in Canada/heading up to Canada it might be a few months faster to apply for Nexus + register your car in the program up North. With that combo, think you can use Sentri lanes (Nexus pass only w/no vehicle registration, no).

If you have a Passport card and can use the Ready Lane that's doable too. For example, it took me ~15 minutes today crossing North using the Ready Lane at San Ysidro at noon (had a rental car vs. my normal Sentri vehicle). It's just higher variance and can probably be upwards of an hour via Ready Lanes in bad times (vs. the normal 1-20 mins using Sentri).

What constitutes as a clean record? Can you never have been in trouble for anything or is it for serious crimes/ people with red flags for terrorism and stuff?

Pretty much clean means you + your relatives = not on the books for any misdemeanor+

Yes it's strict.

Yeah, for teaching in Korea things like drunk in public and underage stuff will show up on FBI checks. Clean needs to say no information.

Well, Sentri is out of the question. Does anyone have experience using the ready lanes on a frequent bases? I've read anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours using them. Is there a way to see average wait times online somewhere?

If you're not driving on a Sunday or sometime when stuff is randomly f-d up, Ready lane shouldn't be too bad. There's a Ready Lane for walking across North as well.

I'm in the process of moving up there from Rosarito. From what I have heard, Playas de Tiajuana and perhaps zona rio are the only areas that are pretty safe. Comments on this?

Hopefully I just end up using my real estate agent for getting the place because I never see much listed on craigslist. How did you guys all find your apartments? Only asking because my agent has been slacking and I almost want to just take care of this all on my own since I can drive up there and check the place out before I take it.
