Looking to move down by Feb. If anyone is in need of a roommate PM me. Will be grinding a mix of low/mid stakes cash and mid/high stakes MTTs. Not looking for anything super baller just a nice place to be able to grind. Banana friendly but don't smoke on a regular basis but I have lived with people who have before and don't have a problem with it. Just looking to grind a ton and get back on a good work out schedule in the nice weather. I'm 29 and a mod over in the MTT forums although I haven't been very active on the forums since BF. PM me for more info. Would like to be down there by February.

Going to PM Miguel about places too but figured I'd see if anyone has a spot open first since I rather be social and live with and/or near other players.

Anyone who lives south and has a car that they park in a secure lot, shoot me a PM. Having a bit of trouble with the landlord/HOA and could really use a favor.

Need to hide some illegal, valuable **** in someone's car?

On another note, another stellar review for Miguel & his wife. He showed us some places last night and she helped us out today. Super friendly, good people. And if they recommend a fish/seafood taco joint... GO!

I'm sure it's old news to many of you by now: http://www.pocketfives.com/articles/...n-ways-587071/

Just wanted to say, very well played to "shaniac". A nice way to start the year; & a "win" for Rosarito. (Eh; for any of those in competition with/or know those Cabo Boys/Crew.)

I'm removed from any of that, but wanted to pass along my respect to a wonderful; & notable finish.

Hey guys, i've read through the thread and linked write ups and i'm sure you are bored with questions but if you have a minute it'd be a great help for me.

I've been traveling for over a year now and my tourist visa is up in the US so I was thinking of spending the next 5 months in Mexico. I've been to Tijuana, Cancun and Playa Del Carmen before. My options for Mexico would be either Rosarito, Laz Paz, Cabo or Puerto Escondido.

I'd like Rosarito because of the poker community you guys have going on but it being so close the border and Tijuana and a couple of reviews i've read make me think it's going to be mostly seedy nightlife and 18 - 21 year old American getting wasted. I'm a big night life fan and Hong Kong at TJ is awesome but it sucks if it's only that style of options. How similar is Rosarito to Tijuana? How does Rosarito compare to other places in Mexico? I'm 26 like to scuba, kite surf and go out and most of the places in Mexico are great for all of those

On the other hand I could imagine Cabo just being an upscale Playa Del Carmen and could be exclusively rich 50+ year olds when it's not spring break given it's more expensive there. Laz Paz seems a good middle ground, possibly.

Thanks guys; appreciated.

No competition with the Cabo crew but I appreciate the props.

Sounds like nightlife is a priority for you, and Rosarito is not the place for that...

Rosarito nightlife pretty dead. Tijuana can be pretty crackin if you go to the more upscale clubs I guess. I don't think any of us have checked anything out besides strip clubs and a huge salsa/dance club.

On the plus side (and it's still just wasted americans)...but spring break is coming up soon, and it'll be like a month and a half long or something. MTV had a beach house here back in the day, and it's a super popular spot for everyone from SF/LA/SD

Can confirm bust's place is very sick. We were quoted 2.5k/mo for a 2 bedroom when we went there (obv a ripoff at that price)... anyways dope place

klean...i suggest just driving the strip and looking for a gym, I saw another the other day.

Got my telcel card today the lady had no idea what we wanted that was 5gigs like mentioned above so we had to settle for a 3 gig, then she suddenly came out with the 5 gig lol so I guess we are good.

I was looking for the "gringo bar" by walmart Josh told me about that he thought was called Tim's bar, so I was looking for something with at least an american name and found it... It's called Que Pasa lol. This place is pretty decent tho and they have a pretty sweet SuperBowl party planned with tail gating outside, flag football teams etc. So if u guys are into football you should maybe try and hit this place up for the SB.

The type of Gym that you want is not available in Rosarito (the best one is anytime fitness) you will need to Drive to TJ and pay 120 US/month http://www.sportsworld.com.mx/index....subpag=tijuana

Rosarito is not a Party Town anymore, here you will not find Coco Bongo or Squid roe. If You like Scuba dive you can practice in Ensenada

bust's room for the price is a great option.
I agree with boliver, in TJ you can find really nice upscale Clubs (No Strippers) if that's what you are into, but the clientele is 90% locals, not like Revolution Ave. that is market to the "Dollar Gringo".

Other option is Party @ Gas Lamp district in SD. we've done it on the past with friends, hire a driver for the night cross the border party @ Ivy or Stingaree until 2 or 3 am and then head back to TJ for the after party & Food

I just moved down to Rosarito from Las Vegas with another 2+2er, Miguel helped us get set up into a place the same day, it was awesome as we only had to get a hotel for one night. We ended up with an ocean view Villa at Calafia, and we are very happy wth it!

I want to thank everyone in the thread for all the info, as it has helped lots to streamline things, we are still waiting for our internet to get turned on, but we have our bank accounts etc., and hopefully we will have everything to send to Stars manana.

The only problem we have had so far, besides waiting for Telnor, is we bought a Telcel air card, (they only had one left) and I have not been able to get it to work on my desktop, we actually were unable to get it to work on my room-mate's laptop the first night, we had to take it back Telcel and they trouble shooted it, and now it works most of the time (on the laptop) but has knocked us off a few times. I have yet to get it to work on my pc, even after spending 30 mins on the phone with tech support.

damn that sucks starling. I just got a telcel card today. Played about 1 hour on stars with it and am on it now.. So far no problems. Hope u get it to work soon. Any idea how to check usage? I've went through the menu but didn't see any reports on the GB usage (but I've had a few drinks).

Sick brag about being on Stars lol

I don't really know how to check it, we got a 60 days free usage package, so have not worried about it, (maybe that is why it sucks so bad lol) but it sucks we have had to share my room-mate's lap top, with the one card that won't work on my pc and still waiting for telnor.

So you bought it today? They must have more cards in now, we bought the last one the day we were in there, and they didn't have anymore when we went back there the last time. How much did you pay? What type of usage did it include etc.?

There's a mail/text option on the interface:

"You can check the status anytime by sending VIGENCIABAT to the number 5050, or on the website."

-My Pokerstars s/n=ergoaxe (pink pony avatar) I'm a Supernova.

-Moved to vancouver last year...looking for warmer climates this move.

Weird way to do it, but it worked, thanks.

My card was $399 pesos out the door, 5gb usage and I think 60 days. So far it is working really really well, I'm impressed.

Anyone bothered buying any of those anti parasite pills? Afaik no one has reported getting really sick here, but I met a dude yesterday that has lived here about a year that said he got real sick twice from parasites and that we should go buy some at the pharmacy and that they weren't that expensive.
