Note to all potential future rosarito grinders:

Take solace in the fact that at least 40-50 people that I know of, from different parts of the world have all done this, in Rosarito alone, on varying budgets. Things will work out, it's what life does.

edit: not meant to be a "stop asking all these damn questions" post, but if you are serious about moving here, you can and should read through the thread. You will learn a ton about every detail of the moving process and stars approval, and also make it easier for those who move down in the future to not have to sort through 80 pages of different people asking the same thing 9 times. Sorry for a bit of my frustration, but for the last 4 months it's literally the same questions getting asked over and over. I created this thread to help create a large community of like -minded poker players that could bounce strategy off each other, have fun on off days, and meet up for dinner and lullz and **** after grinding everyday. We're stoked to have you, so I apologize for the past, present, and future for snapping at some people.

I also don't really sympathize with people's hesitations about safety and such Move to cold ass canada if you want a 1st world country. Things are a bit different here....although the "Is it safe? Do they cut your head off?" questions seemed to end a few months ago.

Maybe I have Alzheimers, i've read the whole thread but as it's been a few months I guess i forgot the details. next time I will put, if anyone other than boliver would like to answer a question then...

I do know what you mean though, as a regular poster in the SNE thread. We get people at least once a week asking what the vpps per hand are at 100nl or if they should go for SNE with a $2k bankroll at 50nl and how many hours a week it would take etc. It's just hard to stop human laziness and it's just always easier for people to ask then scroll through the thread (especially while 24 tabling)

I guess the best way to stop it would be by responding to every post "**** off search the thread"

some cliffs would be sick if anyone wants to take the reigns on something like that. im way too lazy myself and pretty busy preparing for the move atm, but it would be huge. maybe even add the cliffs to the 1st or 2nd post ITT and update it as new info presents itself.

I can relate to someone's need to ask a bunch of questions before moving to a place. I'm the same way anyway, and I had a lot of detailed/nitty questions before moving to Vancouver and again before coming to Rosarito.

At the same time, it's true that you just gotta come down, figure it out, then ask people if you have more specific problems/questions when you get here, and also true that it's relatively simple to get set up.

Boliver is understandably bored of answering questions about pretty mundane details, but with great threads come great responsibility.

And yeah, a cliffs post would be good, I don't feel I could write up a comprehensive one, or I would. Maybe I'll try anyway.

i hope i didnt come off as a jackoff by saying to stop asking questions. i was refering to that user only, not the whole community. its tough to read through a long thread like this. the questions can be answered by reading back, but i also understand the struggle to find the info in such a convoluded thread. no offense intended obv.

i found on my visit that its gonna be a pretty simple setup and u just need to make sure u have ur expenses covered incase of any bad downswings. my MAIN ADVICE to anyone on a budget is to make sure u have 6mos rent/expenses outside of poker$ or an open ticket home incase u brick and then just take ur shot. life can be short and taking chances isnt always a bad thing.

Great thread, finally got around to finishing it. I am 99% moving to Rosarito at the end of January or February. Hopefully I can get out of my lease a month early but who knows. I spoke pretty good Spanish after high school, but haven't used it in years. I bought an online subscription to Rosetta Stone and I'm ready to do this thing. Kinda expecting to love it and live down there for quite a long time.

Just don't go in with high expectations (and if you've lived in any other third world-type country you won't) and you'll be fine. I like it just fine here, but I also don't expect much in the way of social interaction since it is all old retirees and locals who for the most part you don't have much in common with. There are quite a few poker players here now, but most seem intent on grinding which is understandable and fine.

The ocean view is nice, the actual ocean itself leaves much to be desired unless you are a surfer and own a full body wet suit. Also, a ton of **** here just doesn't work / takes forever. Again standard emerging economy bs.

All that said, it fits my needs perfectly. Not sure I'd go so far as saying I want to live here for a very long time though.

Obviously getting setup is ez game, we've set up 6 people total in this building.

My Niece just finished her exams and has flew in to hang with me for a few days. I want to show here a great time while shes in town. I contacted Miguel and we are putting together a quad expedition this Saturday. Miguel is heading that way today to get all the pricing and info. We will be going to quad and end up heading for Taco's afterwards were Miguel swears are the best in town! I want her to have a blast and I am hoping to hang with some of the guys I haven't personally met yet. I hope many will consider coming it should be a great time!

I think I luckboxed my way to the fast pass lane without having a fast pass. Took a wrong turn on my last drive to LA and my GPS had me make a few uturns. Next thing I knew I was at the front of the line (skipped the whole part with vendors). Was worried that I was in the Sentri line. Took 15 minutes and skipped a pretty long line.

I ended up on the far right of the border crossing (lane 7). I remember the route I took so hopefully it's legit.

Its official we are def going this Saturday at 1 PM. Hit me up if you are interested. Riding quads in the dunes over looking the ocean sounds awesome!
