I'm rooming with Starting Gun, we're in Calafia Towers, and we're about 5-10 mins south of town. Neither of us have a vehicle (we're the only ones out this far without a vehicle), but it hasn't been that bad at all, there's a ton of cabs around and they're super cheap

I believe the penthouse in our building is for rent. We are 1 mile south of downtown and we choose this spot for location, we have 4 ppl living in my apartment and another 2 in an apartment above us. The penthouse looks pretty sick, 2 story condo on the 8-9th top floor right over the ocean. LMK if anyone is interested and I could check price, I haven't seen it listed on any websites ever (as tons of places aren't).

Interested. How much is the 2bedroom above you? I don't know anyone else moving to Rosarito and don't know if I could fill a penthouse though.

So as you guys said there aren't really any beaches it looks like, are there some areas around? I'm from WA state so I know all about terrible beaches, but u can usually find SOMEWHERE with some sand where you can go chill on nice days, anything like that within reasonable driving distance?

Do you guys have nice amenities at your condos? I saw some online that looked like they had fitness center, pools etc.

Hey, jlopez is my real estate agent. I encouraged him to post because he really went above and beyond helping me get set up in Rosarito. I don't speak a word of Spanish so he went with me to the bank (Santander) and helped me get setup with a bank account (USD) with only my passport and Telnor bill. The bank manager asked for two local references and Jose provided them without me even asking, pretty cool. He also setup Telnor for me, cable & internet which was pretty cool since I mostly can only go to Mexico on weekends. I think I gave him a few bucks so his assistant would wait in my apartment for the cable guy to come on like a Tuesday, money well spent. So, if anyone is looking for a condo/apartment down there and you need a local contact that is reliable, trustworthy and speaks fluent English (he went to school in the US) & Spanish, Jose would definitly help you out.

So our maid turned into our personal assistant.

She cooks for us, does our laundry, runs errands (take our cloth to the dry cleaners, buys us groceries), and cleans our entire house. She's very thorough and does an impeccable job. Like serious hotel service here. She hangs our cloth and she even tied my bath robe in a fashion you'd only find at hotels. Just top shelf service. All this for $5/hour.

If you guys need her, I'd be happy to refer you guys to her (not on mondays/thurs though, those are our days). PM me for more info.

She doesn't speak english though so it can be a bit difficult to communicate. My roommates used google translate to talk to her, so you can do that.

hey guys, first time here...been reading your thread-seems like you've got a nice community started down there....anyways, my gf and i have been thinking about moving to rosarito for a little while now ( not poker related, just wanting to try something new ) ...but after reading your thread i think i may give grinding a shot...i'm mostly a live player ( started to get into online poker about a month before BF,so not much online exp ) and consider myself above avg-slightly good.... some may say im better than that, but im modest.... i play mostly $1/$2 nl and occasional 2/5, not much on keeping stats, but i win more than i lose.... i love ( and think better at than cash ) tourny play... exp= theres a tourny about 50 miles from here i play in every week...about 65-90 show up $20 buy-in, unlimited re-buys ( $10=1000 chips ) for the first hour, add-on at the break...had a crap day last week , but the 4 previous weeks before i made the final table without re-buying or adding on...chopped 1st 1 week, various "cashs" the other 3....i guess after typing all that crap, all im wondering is.....will any of my "skills" translate to grinding? or is it just something i need to try and see if its something i can do? if and when we do move down there, would anyone wanna go out for drinks and give me "the idiots guide to grinding" ? also ive read about your internet, but my gf works online.....cant think of any other way to put this....shes a webcam "performer".... is the internet down there good enough for her to be "working" while im grinding? anyways regardless, we'll be down there sometime and i'm sure i'll look a few of you guys up.....any gamers there? halo reach? c.o.d ( xbox ) ?? ..........just noticed one of my sentences ...."for her to be "working" while im grinding" feel free to have fun with that one lol

Been down here for a week now and everything has gone very smoothly, very much so because of our (Starting Gun and I) realtor, Miguel Sedano.

Miguel has been great through the entire process, heard about him from Steel108 to start with. He even had our internet hooked up and ready to go when we got here because he knew we were poker players; I know a lot of guys ended up wasting 2+ days just trying to get their internet set up and working; we got here last Wednesday morning and by Wednesday night, we were both putting in sessions.

im not down with most spam, but it seems legit in this case imo and the 1st guy has answered alot of questions for us thus far(thanks miguel). i agree in a normal situation, but i feel theres been alot of help from the local real estate guys and more to come probably. take this fwiw, but the skype group is probably gonna be alot more productive for u as an already setup player and less noob questions on skype im guessing. i feel u for sure, but SOME spam is helpful imo. peace!

And would wanna hang out with some Americans our age so, it would be kinda awkward if you knew what my girl did for a living..... I'm more than fine with what she does, makes about 2k a month but I don't KNOW the people that watch her.....I seen something about some ballers a few pages back? You guys hit the court regularly??
