the real drama should be about remainnameless's location, which pushes every post he makes out of margin and screws with my ability to grind the forums as usual

Sounds like most of you guys are in pretty secure areas (gated, beachfront), just wondering how safe the general area is there in Rosarito?? Im sure there are good and bad parts like most other places, but would you feel comfortable with say your gf going down to the beach or to the market by herself??

I've been to several parts of mexico, (rosarito, tijuana, tecate, mexicali, etc...) and for the most part, Rosarito has gave me the feeling of being most safe out of all of them... I dont think there would be any problem, Bpk616 if your gf wanted to go down to the beach by herself, like most people said, most of the places have there own private beaches, which only residents can access, and if she wanted to go to the market, I dont think she would have any problem, besides the language barrier...

The only thing I'd worry about is some white dude might try to "bang" her. In which case, you'd have to break his nose and then you might go to jail. And that would probably suck.

the only thing I would worry about is her driving around. These folks crash into each other on the regular. there is a body shop on every corner.

The safety is a non factor.

Cool, thanks for your response LB

Have any of you relocated and brought a pet with you?? I have a small dog I'd like to bring, besides proof of recent vaccines/shots is there anything I need to be aware of?? I need to do some more research in this area but just curious if anyone has relocated there w a pet or if it could be an issue?

Also, more pictures ITT please!

Thanks for the great contribution everyone has made in this thread, looking to get out of canada by the end of the year and make my way to Mexico, Rosarito is toward the top of my list

I drive around all the time...it's way funner in mexico, more people are willing to race you on the highways ( in a fun way, not a chasing way)...you don't even HAVE to stop at red lights, there's a third lane on the right that you can just keep going if you want.
i got insurance for cheap as balls as well, $60 a year for minimum legal coverage.

There was a comment about learning spanish earlier, and I def don't think you should expect to learn anything while living down here if you don't already have knowledge.

Travelling through spanish speaking countries is how I learned most of my spanish, but in rosarito it's just so much easier for everyone to ask me or another spanish speaker to translate things for them...and most are living in a house with other americans so english is spoken 99% of the time.

I'd def consider getting spanish lessons to start with if you actually want to learn anything, and once you get a bit of a grasp of the language then talking to locals, making local friends (surf, skate, soccer, fishing buddies..etc) or getting a spanish chick are some of the ways I've picked up most of what I know...which is a dirty informal street version of espanol and I don't really know how to conjugate much stuff. pa lo que seas guey!

sup guys, just moved here. so far loving it. food is cheap and good, beer is extremely cheap ($.70 during happy hour!), streets seem safe and people are nice. grunching because i don't want to read 7 pages of people threatening to break noses, but what mexican cell companies did you guys use to get approved by pokerstars?
