Rosarito is pretty tranquil little beach town, good weather, very safe from my time here and has everything you need to live. Lots of ppl speak some english here, and if you're interested in more adventure TJ is close and real cheap to get to and from. There's a lot of people who have been here a while and can help you out with questions (skype thread/this thread) and it's definitely cheap and a good option for relocation. It's definitely not for everybody, it's a bit boring for people who aren't in the mood to explore TJ/Ensenada. As far as a place to set up shop and grind, however, it's just fine.

Is there still a bunch of people living in Rosa thinking about coming out for WCOOP. Is it easy to find a room for those 2 weeks?

I'm living in San Diego and shuttling back and forth between there and Rosarito and would love to play some basketball while I'm down here. Does anyone play pickup games regularly?

I just bought a ball and shoot around on the top of the parking garage at la jolla del mar. If we get enough people, we could play here.

So if you're in La Jolla Real/Del Mar what's your preferred walking distance gentlemen's club: Foxy's, Bada Bing, or Prestige?

Yeah that sounds good to me. Even if we could get 3 v 3 that would be plenty I'd think

After the Manager/part owner got kidnapped a while back by 5 guys carrying AK-47's shooting up the place and then a week later someone got shot dead in the club it was closed down. The main crew that ran that place is now at Foxies.

YES; as long as you are eligible. Otherwise you need to wait a week (Mexican week) in order to have a personalized one.

Thanks for your reply Miguel.
What do you mean by eligible? I thought you can get an "express card" right after you open your account but it wont have your name on it, if you one with your name you have to wait a week, do they send it in the mail or do they call you and ask you to come and pick it up at the bank?
Can you get a debit card for US accounts too or just the peso accounts?

For the guys that drive into Rosarito from the San Diego border, is it just a simple drive in, show your passport, and go? I thought I read somewhere in this thread you need to buy Mexican car insurance or something?

My USA car insurance company actually covers me up to 50 miles across the border into either Mexico or Canada. Check with your company, some policies cover travel into "border" areas.

Yes it's a simple drive into Mexico, not so simple coming back, be prepared to wait, and if you are going to make the trip frequently I'd get a jump on Sentri which cuts down return border wait times significantly. Takes several months to get and you need a clean background etc.

For all you guys wondering if you need a passport to come in or out to Mexico I am here to tell you that you don't. I have lived here 6 months and don't have one and have never had any problems. A birth certificate and id is all you need down here. Only when you go past Ensenada do you get asked for it. As far as getting searched on the way in well if you are in a car then you will not get searched. If you are driving an suv, truck or van then you will eventually get stopped. What they actually search for is people bringing in electronics etc without paying taxes on it. My experience is from crossing the border back and forth at least 40 times in the past few months.

I moved down here with my family blindly to be honest but I don't regret it one bit. Rosarito is a very calm place and the people are very nice. There is even a poker room in Rosarito that I play at every once in a while. It's a cool place to come drink and try to win some cash. Hotel Casino Corona is the only poker room in Rosarito.

Jesse1341 and anyone else who wishes to help out,

I´ll be arriving at Rosarito next Tuesday to help out at the Poker Room at Corona Hotel. The room is known as Sinatra´s Room. One of my duties there is to find out what players want and how we can cater to their needs. I understand there have been issues with previous administrations; we will try to learn from those situations and present a better structured room.

If possible I would like to meet with some of you, I haven’t been to the hotel/casino so don’t really know yet how good the kitchen is there. We could maybe go out for dinner or something of that sort.

If you are interested please reply at this post or send me a PM. I´ll be glad to listen to any advice.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.
