Sayulita is nice and (likely) safe, have thought for awhile that would a good spot to grind for a few weeks at least (might get old).

Problem is it and Puerto Vallarta (where the banks are) are in Jalisco State, so USD account would likely be problem.

Sayulita is a very laid back hippyish surf town. Highly recommend it.

Yeah had to go to Rosarito first to open an account at Santander. Once it was open, I had no problems using it in PV.

Can one play on bodog/bovada in rosarito?

You'd need a US ip. In rosarito there's some chance you'd be routed through san diego which would work, more likely you'd just need to set up a vpn. Just set one up at your friends house or rent one.

heard you couldn't play in Rosarito but just read above post so logged into Bovada and played a rotation, this information cost $3

Pretty sure everybody is walking distance from a grocery store Slick, where I'm staying now there is one 30 seconds up the road

From Bovada website:

"We are unable to provide services to residents of your current location. If you already have a Bovada account and are visiting us while traveling you can close this window, sign in and continue playing."

I think that if you play on Bovada too much while in Rosarito, they will eventually ask you about it and temporarily cut you off from access as I do not believe you are supposed to play from Mexico, and they usually do not notice right away. Of course, if you have an Internet provider that makes it appear that you are playing from the U.S., you should be fine.

Can you explain this? So if you are playing on stars, then you can't be playing on bovada at the same time in Mexico?

As I understand it, Bovada does not allow Mexican residents to play there, while PokerStars does not allow American residents to play in the U.S. However, I am absolutely not speaking from personal experience (just regurgitating what I have read here at 2+2), and Justice Assessor posted above me that apparently you can still play on Bovada if "traveling" through the area. Not sure how long the visit needs to be before they realize you have actually moved there, however.

I have been able to login and play on Bovada when I want in the 8 months I've been in Rosarito this year. I have not put in a ton of volume on there since moving to Rosarito and used to cashout a ton from the site while grinding a full MTT schedule in the US. I have been advised to not click cashout while on a Mexican IP and have not done so and it's been fine.

Hey guys, I'm im the middle of the thread reading it cover to cover and was wondering if anyone has recent experience with opening a USD acct with HSBC. My branch says here that with 100k or more i would qualify for a "global" membership where i could xfer back and forth btwn a mexican acct and an american acct for no charge. Also, can someone verify what exactly i will need to open up that acct in Rosarito? My branch here says they dont know. Passport, money, and what else? And then will i be able to use skrill directly with that account?

As always thx in advance for any help.

Anybody from Rosa coming down for LAPT Peru by chance? Was wondering if you could bring a stars security token with ya (size of a quarter but my address is still mexico and I have to get it sent there - I'm in Colombia atm). Ceviche and pisco on me if possible!

If not I'd also be more than willing to toss someone $100 + expenses if I could get it sent to them and you could DHL or Fed-ex it to me (In Peru, will be there for the next 2 months)

Hey guys a few questions. I have read through the entire thread but still some things weren't discussed as much as I was hoping. Would appreciate any answers if you would be nice enough to take the time.

1. Which of the larger condo places has the best amenities (pool, sauna, steam room, gym etc)?

2. For places actually in the town center and do not require taxi or car to get places what is recommended? Most all rentals I see are the larger condo places?

3. If anyone could share personal experience good or bad about the different condo places I would be very grateful.

I know the thinking is come down check out the places see what you like. I definitely plan to do this but would love some input of how people feel about a place after they have been there a few months. Example...I lived in Vegas a few years back in spring valley which was OK neighborhood. Then when lease ran out I wanted to upgrade so I moved to a sick condo place in the southwest. Well it wasn't that sick lol. The A/C was terribly designed leaving all the master bedrooms like saunas. It was 80 percent vacant bc it was brand new which was weird and I didn't like not many people around. And getting to the strip and things was much more of a pain than I had planned on it being. I don't mind 5 min drives but I like being in the center of things. I also like living in a sweet place. So, I would like a balance of this if possible.
Thanks again to anyone who responds.

I've got a few local dive buddies, but they aren't always avail. I'm looking for someone to come with me to dive/spearfish. I live a short walk north of the pier and have been out to dive the rocks beyond the pier a couple times. On the back south side of the rocks there is a nice cove sheltered from waves (on calmer days) where there is a small kelp garden w lots of larger fish. i've also been to Salinas and Mision beach and know the layout there. Would also be down to go to ensenada, k37-39 or wherever else I can stone some fish, find lobsters, clam dive, collect urchins or whatever other underwater adventures can be found. PM me if you are interested or have any buddies that snorkel/free dive/spearfish!

In person is the way to go. Most places are 2 to 4 bedrooms, so you arent going to find many single bedroom (smaller) units. Quality sometimes varies from unit to unit, so yes lots are unoccupied are are being renovated, but with the summer fading, more units should be available.

1. Which of the larger condo places has the best amenities (pool, sauna, steam room, gym etc)?
From what ive seen, units vary from condo to condo, not sure about amenities in most other than most have nice pools/courtyards/hot tubs.

2. For places actually in the town center and do not require taxi or car to get places what is recommended? Most all rentals I see are the larger condo places?I initially planned on staying at k38 for the beach aspect, but my realtor suggested staying in town for a few months first. I'm glad I did this so that I got to learn where everything is at and meet some locals. La Jolla de Rosarito is nice because its close to everything on strip, but just off the super touristy stretch of beach that has loud/crowded bars and music at night.

I'm confused, I thought you wanted big buildings? There are 3 larger condos in the downtown area: Oceana, Riviera, and La Jolla de Rosarito. There are also smaller complexes but they are way junkier. Also, imho the 3 main big complexes downtown are just not as nice as ones you will find out of the downtown area.
