you can get a lease agreement from office max/staples. You can have them put any rent amount u want. You obv arn't paying so it doesn't matter. Just have a lease created and signed. I can even send u a lease in an attachment if you want. Pm me with your email address and I'll send you one (I Do Real Estate investing on the side)

This is obv muuuuch more than the standard $25-30/mo that most people pay for internet + phone...but another good option if you are worried about location and not being able to get legit mexi isp internet

So basically between multi-cable, telnor, baja wireless, and the multiple carriers with reasonably priced 3G cards...I wouldn't worry about internet too much, there ARE options out there if you search for em and ask around

This looks so sick. I lived in Thailand for almost a year, currently at home in Los Angeles and was planning to return to the Thai... but I'm probably gonna make the drive down to rosarito and check it out before a final decision.

questions: Is it easy to find month-to-month accommodation? An awesome thing about Thailand was that renting an apartment at many places was essentially no different than checking in to a hotel. Took minutes to move in and you could commit to as many or as few months as you wanted. Is this Las Olas place and others similar? Is there usually a minimum lease contract? Would it be really stupid to try and walk in to places without a real estate agent? thanks so much for help

also one thing i really think you guys you should do, if you havent already, is make a skype group chat for all the grinders living in rosarito. each city in thailand with a 2p2 community has a skype chat where everyone can easily make plans, ask questions, joke around etc. It greatly helps make a community and made it way easier for me to settle in

i really look forward to coming down and hanging by the beach for a week, hope you guys have a good grinder community and all the great food recommendations by then

Are you using a USD or MXN (peso) Mexican Bank account?

Hi

What part of Tijuana?

I grind/stay/live near the downtown area in TJ on the weekends, I have lol9to5 in San Diego.

So anyone with an open room for rent or looking for a place now that's what an easy roommate to get along with, shoot me a PM. Looking for something opening immediately to a month from now.

**** i guess this was the reason to get a USD account? Mine is in Pesos.

I had originally planned to do stars --> MB --> US account...but don't know if that's possible. Going to bank now to see what happens, but I don't mind if I get raped in fees the first time, then I'll figure cost-effective routes once everything is set up.

I already went/asked a few banks, and there wasn't a way to do MB-->Mexican bank(USD).

I open both a MXN and USD, and tried using the USD and failed.

I also tried PS-MB-BK(MXN)-bank(USD) just to see what % I lost in currency conversion and fees and it's definitely not worth it.

I am looking for a place/bank I can exchange EURO-US in Tijuana or maybe try San Diego, since I can get a check directly from PS. But I don't want to lock whatever I cash out, till I'm 90% sure I can go that route.

This is the biggest thing to figure out for people. How to get money offline to USD for under 4% vig.

What countries can you go from Moneybookers to USD cashout in? Any? Open a bank account there.

Boliver ask your boy JD as I saw an interview where he talks about having his Mexico/USA accounts linked for transfers/cash outs.

^^ all moneybookers for him...tho I'm sure he has different accounts and stuff.

Once MB is all verified you have like 20k/mo limits...I will ask him about what vigs and fees he's paying though.

dollar/peso exchange is at 13.6:1 this is pretty huge, and I wish I was more in the know of currency swaps and arbitrage or speculation investing through that.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this thread. Just moved down here a week ago. I live in the same building as Boliver and I'm loving it down here so far. Are there any cash game grinders in Rosarito/Tijuana? Or any of them thinking about coming down here? I'm surrounded by all these MTT guys...

yes, but for most of us that would be ******ed to do, because stars isn't accepting month-to-month leases. I do know one guy who had a 3 month lease and they told him he had to go through the whole process of getting verified again, because they would only mark that his account was good for his residency period.

that being said... Sure month to month is fairly easy to get, especially in the offseason, but you will normally pay a decent amount more, and it's crazy sometimes seeing how much more. A 6 bedroom I saw for 2,500 would go for as low as 1600 or so with a lease.

edit: it's fine to go into places without an agent, but the system down here is really weird, and alot of the places even though they are in a complex are held by private owners, so sometimes it's necessary to contact them to be able to get inside. I think a combo is best..have an agent show you some listings they have access to...but then go to places yourself and ask as well. Agents won't even show you a place unless it's listed through the right service and they get a cut...and I've ran into some owners that would rather you deal with them directly.
