I asked if Mexico had the PS mobile ap and someone said yes...

After I have my PS account back up and running, can I just walk across like the San Ysidro crossing into MX and sit there in port on my phone grinding Zoom as long as my phone is pinging a MX cell tower?

I'm having trouble getting MB to verify my Mexican bank account so I can cash out some fun $, so while I'm trying to get that handled, I was wondering if anyone needed to buy some Stars/MB $ for USD? $500 to sell straight up. You can PM me or Skype 'pokerstudy'. I don't check PM very often thou...take it easy.

Definitely makes getting pesos easier/cheaper at Scotiabank or Santander.

Hey all Im coming down there next month had a few questions that have prob been answered at some point in the thread but dont wanna scan all 176 pages. Im gonna be moving down there on a limited BR so wanna figure it out before I go

1) What is required when you move into a place? (first, last, + deposit)
2)Where is the best part of town to live in? (is there one place where most grinders have moved to)
3) What is the best internet provider to use? And do ppl recommend getting a backup?
4) Has anybody rented a car in USA and drove it to Rosarito? (most places I have called wont let me take it that far into Mexico)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just repy here or send me a PM with any details you have for me. Thanks!

Are there any decent places to live within walking distance of Wal Mart or a supermarket?

I dont think so...probably best to live in the middle of town and catch rides. I go a few times a week and I'd pick you up for gas, grass or ass.

I know Clayton mentioned in previous pages about being able to use your BOA card straight out of the ATM at Santadar(sp). I could be wrong and would have to research his posts, but this is what I thought was implied

You can use any US bank card at any ATM down here, you usually just get charged a big fee.

If you use your BoA card at a Santander atm, you don't get a charge at all as Santander is basically owned by BoA

Open a Schwab account no fees any ATM and they refund any charges from the ATM at the end of the month.

Yea Schwab account by far the best thing you can do, no fees anywhere in the world, would highly recommend

For what it's worth, I am very sure that most (all?) banks charge a currency exchange fee. It may not appear in the form of an actual fee as some (most?) banks like to hide their fees by adjusting the exchange rate in their favor. I always assume I am being charged ~3% for an ATM withdrawal on top of the normal ATM use fee.

ive pulled cash out in at least 6 different currencies this year with my schwab card at a fair market spread

(usd, euro, gbp, euro, mxn peso, aud)

having previously been eaten alive by ATM/FX fees while traveling in years prior, I can say this card has changed my life

i'd estimate this is my 5th post on 2p2 advocating the card for anyone who spends a lot of time overseas. everyone i know with schwab has nothing but positive things to say. best customer support IME too

They charge no fees and usually around 1% conversion.

Sounds like Schwab may be even more legit for currency conversions though.
