I have a place in Tijuana and am looking for another full time / part time roommate.

Pics:

Has:
onsite spa + massage room
gym
multiple pools, hot tubs (indoor + outdoor), full size water slide
2x racquetball courts
2x 6-max poker tables
pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey table, game room
full size basketball court, soccer field, tennis court
secure parking
on site dry cleaning and other stuff

The place is immediate walking distance past the border so its ultra close to the USA if that matters to you.

Currently I'm living there full time and wcg|rider and jllama are living there part-time.

What I'm looking for very specifically :

-Non-smoker
-Consistent winner at reasonably higher stakes games
-Socially outgoing. We eat out at dinner most nights and would expect you to do the same
-Non-nittery about standard stuff, maids, etc.
-Tilt-free/rage-free poker play
-Standard good roommate behavior. We have a bit of a nice healthy community/culture and would expect only the same.

The place can vary from completely empty to completely packed depending on the day since there's a lot of traffic through here, something to be aware of. If you want more specific details just hit me up.

That condo in NewCity is a legit location for anyone living in San Diego, especially if you have a car + SENTRI Pass. Office commute!!

I don't have a car and I live at Calafia. If I want to go into town I either take the bus, taxi, taxi van or get a ride from another poker player here. The buses are the size of the "special" buses back home. Inside you will find a bunch of mexicans wondering why white boy is coming on bus. Do not fret, calmly smily and say "HOLA". They're usually green and white. I think they are run by the church.

bus ~ 11 pesos
taxi ~ 60-100 pesos (negotiable)
taxi van ~ 22 pesos
poker friend ~ reach arounds

I live in Houston, TX and am thinking about relocating there early next year. Would y'all recommend me driving there or flying to San Diego and cabbing it down and living without car? I have an old Honda and am not worried about it getting damaged by ****ty roads or ****ty people

If I wanted to start looking at apartments online, can anyone suggest a good website? As it's my girlfriend and me and we don't have a car, I assume we'd want to be living downtown. What's a ball-park figure for one of those downtown penthouses that were referenced/month?

Thanks.
anyone?

the hospital is good for easier-somewhat complicated stuff, i wouldn't trust it for complicated stuff though. its very quick and efficient this way imo because its cheap and they get you in immediately unlike american hospitals which cost inf and take forever.

People in this thread mentioned needing to have a utility bill for Stars. Does that mean you need a utility bill with your name on it or just a utility bill associated with your address there? If we had a house for 9 different guys it might be hard to get 9 different utility bills with each of their names on it.

i didnt have to show utility bill, i only needed it for opening the bank account.

for bank account (Santander) we just had a waterbill in our landlords name, the important thing is that the address on the utility bill matches the lease agreement.

re: health insurance, that is a worry of mine as well. but it seems like nobody down here has it. the prevailing wisdom is to just head over the border if it's not an emergency.

Other then that, we have been seeing a specialist in Ensenada who practices alternative medicine, he is a Japanese guy originally from the states who does cancer research and cures all sorts of diseases using stem cells and other off the grid treatments that big pharma doesn't want in the states. He has a full english speaking staff, they give out free fresh squeezed juices with your appointment, which runs around $23 U.S., sometimes he talks with us and doesn't even charge us.

They run blood work for me every few months or so, which I need for some medication that I am taking, total cost for a full blood work-up was around $80 through him, same blood work I have paid around $1200 for in the states. Oh and the lab has the most state of the art lab equipment (according to the doctor) and you generally can have your lab results the very next day, where in the states it usually takes a week or two.

FYI........ Any doc claiming "cancer research " that moved from the states to Mexico, has a good chance of being a nut. Just wanted to give you a big heads up to be careful with this guy, especially with his "stem cell therapy". My wife is involved in the states with R & D for major pharma comp and any outside small guy offering stem cell therapy is nuts or scamming. They have no regulations down there so they can sell or say anything they want. It's super super dangerous. Stick with local hospitals for your blood work too dude, even if it costs more IMO
