At the end of last year, poker got branded an intellectual sport by our sporting comission. So I'm happy to promote here the first ever Mexican Series of Poker, to take place from April 16 to April 22 (I know, short notice) right in Playa, at Iberostar. All the big latin names are already booked, so if anyone here wants to play, know that you are helping poker grow in Mexico. There will be 4 other series in the year... the next one in Acapulco, then Querétaro, and in november in Mexico City.

I'm returning to Mexico in May and am interested in the 3 events after Riviera Maya. Is there are any additional info like dates for those events? The link only gives info on the 1st event.

Had to dig in the facebook page, but yes, the next ones will be:
Querétaro: July 16th to the 22nd
Acapulco: September 10th to the 16th
Mexico City: November 13th to the 20th

mexico is a complete ****hole. A bunch of cops with assault rifles, coming at me was enough. I didnt want to let them frisk me for coke, because the coke would come out of nowhere. As it turns out all I had to do was flip my wallet and show i had no money....as soon as they see i couldnt pay a bribe they left instantly.

*** this place. theres a ton of hot ass on the beach tho

Sounds like competing agreement/disagreement on their legal authority to have held the tournament in the first place. Hopefully it all gets worked out for future events.
