I played back in June last year. It was a typical nitty 1-2 (approximately) lowstakes game, as one would expect. Better to show up later, as not only do stacks get deeper, but they also increase the blinds (from my understanding).

I'm living in CDMX, and yes, it will go badly here, that much is certain. Mexico is probably handling it worse than any country with an actual democracy. Maybe a couple of the oppressive regimes are below.

The president has gone on live TV a couple times saying it's no big deal here, amulets can save us, religion can save us, just go on with your daily lives. I'd say it's probably 50/50 that there are over a million dead here, hope I'm wrong, but it's not looking good.

As such, take precaution, follow social distancing guidelines, stay in unless you need essential items and keep your distance if you do go outside.

I'm planning to stay here in Mexico, but only b/c my main alternative would be Nebraska, and it's not much better there.

Agree with everything Fossilkid just said. I am in Argentina and the alternative would be to go back to Canada. I am actually thoroughly impressed with how Argentina has handled its crisis thus far and am okayish with Canada's measures thus far.

Wsup guys, like a lot of you I'm headed to Playa Del Carmen after this virus passes and I was wondering if you could recommend me anything I should set up here in the states in advance that will make the transition easier. I havn't played online in 5 years and I know its gotten more complex.

If you don't have a Stars/Party/888 account setup outside of the US it will definitely take some time to get everything verified. Probably around 2-4 weeks to complete verification process. If you are staying in an AirBNB just send them a copy of the receipt that is emailed to you and they accept that as proof of residency.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, every American bank does NOT allow online gambling transactions. I'd highly recommend setting up a bank account in Mexico the first day you arrive. Any American based credit/debit card will be declined on any transaction you make on any poker site. I cannot stress this enough that an international bank account be setup first. I'd recommend getting an account with BBVA Bancomer, HSBC or Santander.
