We (me and some grinders) and are considering moving to hk or macau, for the live poker option.
1. how are the live games? how fishy are they, how high do they run, are they in every big city? (in usd please)
2. how is it like for girls? are the girls hot? do they like white people? are there hookers? if so what are the prices like? do you guys use internet dating to look for chicks?
3. how are the internets? how hard is it to get good internets?
4. how cheap is life over there in comparison to the west? say beer price, food, accommodation, and going out partying?
5. how do you find the general atmosphere? do you feel threatened by locals often? do you see any violence? do you like to go out and party? do you ever get BS?
1: Poker is not legal in HK. A pokerhouse just got busted last week. So only poker in Macau. Blinds in Macau 1-2 US to 10-20 US daily in several casino's. 50-100 US in Wynn or Starworld during the weekend. Terrible grinders in the low limits, clueless people. from 5-10 US and up the players atleast know what they are doing.
2: Macau has the hottest girls in China. All the hot girls are 'imported' from the rest of China to work in the entertainment business. Really hard to find any normal girls. No idea about price or internetdating.
3: No idea
4: Price wise is Macau inside the casino the same or even more expensive as in the west. The prices for the local Kantonese restaurants are much cheaper. Meals between 5 and 10 US dollars are easy to find if you like Chinese food. There is what I heard 1 good club in Macau, but still almost only hookers in the club. Decent appartments 3BR go around 1000-1500 US.
As macau is really small, u can basically get from any place on the island to another place in max 30min.
5: Macau is really safe. It's a old Portugese colony so they are familiar with 'white' people. I never seen any problems, although i'm always in the casino area's and not in the local areas of the city.
More questions, just ask.
