Took me 1,5 years. 1 year parttime studying on the basics and elementary stuff and half a year fulltime doing Chinese the whole day.
Once you have HSK V the studying will become more passive, just by daily conversations (I had Chinese gf - that helped), reading Chinese articles, watching tv shows etc. I didnt have to actively study anymore like I did the 1,5 year before.
I went on exchange for half year to China and wanted to prepare a bit before going so that's how i started. After the first semester it turned out I loved China and liked studying Chinese, so I stayed a semester longer to study the language fulltime and get HSK V
Took me a year full time study in china with Chinese girlfriends and Chinese friends. I used text book with audio text. Basically just copying and reading loud I’ve rand over until it’s in my head.
Awesome that there is a threat like this. I am thinking about moving to China. But I am a bit worried about China shutting down some Chinese poker apps. Do you guys think there is a big chance it will happen to PokerStars, 888 and PartyPoker in the near future as well?
And what about the internet connection. How stable is it? I know they have a great mobile network. Even on the rural parts of the Great Wall I still had connection. About the internet I am not sure. Don't want to risk being on a final table and than lose connection for 5 minutes. How are you experiences?
Anyone know a good site to bet on sports in China? I have downloaded some of the APPS on my iphone to bet but I need a Chinese ID to withdraw money and I only have American passport.
Any ideas? I have WeChat transfer would be most convenient..
Is it possible to use WeChat transfer or Chinese Bank card with Unibet? I have large amounts of RMB right now which is why I'm trying to find a Chinese platform lol
I recommended Bodog earlier and it works without a VPN but their URL constantly changes which I assume is about getting around the firewall (they operate in China and Malaysia, fortunately setting the VPN to a Malaysian server works). Seems to me that any site that isn't focused on China that currently doesn't require a VPN could require one at any moment.
But the thing is. Using a VPN while playing poker is against most site's terms of agreements. I don't want to risk them blocking my account and losing my money. Therefor playing poker on 888 or PartyPoker while using a VPN isn't an option for me.
That is also why I would love to know if it is possible and convenient enough to multitable while being in Mainland China.
Ok so anyone playing on Stars can tell me the best way to withdraw funds? Can not withdraw directly to Chinese bank account? Does anyone use Entropay or Webmoney?
I'm visiting HK for 2-3 months starting at around mid November, anyone interested of renting out a room? I will be grinding on Poker Master so as a bonus we can talk strategies and grind some poker.
Macau has no metro yet (under construction) but cheap buses (some timetable restrictions) and taxis (basically nowhere costs more than like 10US due to the small size of the place). As for the flat it depends on a variety of factors. For a short term rent in a non ****hole expect at least 2k US/mo though, maybe more. Have a look at Airbnbs to get an idea
guys, do u know is there a real possibility to have a China IP from Europe? Ofc i mean VPN or some kind of it. But all good VPN providers offers only hongkong servers Seems nobody has a vpn server in Mainland China.
Get a VPS in China and set up OpenVPN there. If it's too complicated pay someone to do so. The VPN traffic might get blocked though by the great firewall.
