depends on which airport, do google maps to see if in the city or not

no real chance for a museum given, just go hog wild eating and drinking and plenty of places going 24/7 if you are up to it and want to skip the hotel

shanghai has great food and nice nightlife

just walking around the bund should be pretty cool and then there's tons of other big towers and **** you can go up in and see entire skyline

sorry if this has been asked before. I used the search function but didnt find an answer. What have people done as professional gamblers getting a chinese tourist visa? I am going to Hong Kong/Macau and then was planning to go to Beijing for a few days. I have heard that if you put self-employed and leave employer blank it will be denied. If I include the letter saying I am a poker player will it be approved? I also heard I may have to include tax returns? Seems like an awful lot for just a week trip but I do not want it to be denied.

Write self-employed, your home address and say "online marketing" or "trading" or whatever. You can't write down an employer if you don't have one. Just make up a name for yourself if you need to include something. Never heard of having to include any sort of tax information, definitely not for a tourist visa. It's not true.

FYI, don't stress about this form, as long as you wrote something down that's actual English and doesn't say you're a terrorist/criminal or have some crazy diseases, you're going to be fine.

Curious if anyone is playing on Stars pro/very frequently living in Beijing right now. Would love to talk and bounce ideas off of someone, I have a lot of questions.. I will be going to Beijing teaching English for couple months and I plan on playing a lot of hours.

I've searched this entire thread, I can't find the place I went to last time for China visa in HK.

It was really hard to get to, someone referred me a few years ago.
They can do it in half a day, they didn't even look like a place that conducted visas. It was called something trading.

Just wondering if anyone else has been there.

Hi guys

Do most casinos in Macau accept €500 notes? Or maybe the bureaus there do?

On a side note do most exchange bureaus in the world accept them?

Accepted but exchange rates will eat you alive in the casino.

1) If you are spending some time in Hong Kong first i suggest you exchange before heading over to Macau.

2) If going directly to Macau i suggest going into a bank and exchanging.

Yes im a ****ing beast at it. I use to go to a small family owned noodle shop and play sometimes in the afternoon with the boss and a cook. The key is to make sure theres no bombs or 4 of a kind by remembering all the cards that come out. Also when to take the bottom 3 cards and when not too. General rule I would say is take it if you have big joker and at least two 2's. Haven't played in a while but I'm sick. Could tell you more if you like

By remembering all of the cards that come out you will know what to put out. Single card, pair, or 3+1 or 3+2. Generally you want to put out the card you can get back so you have another turn to put out again. Sorry my wording is bad but you should get the gist of it. For example, if I have 2 K's in my hand and 3 A's have already come out I'll put out 2 3's or 2 4's or whatever so that when the opponent puts out 2 J's or 2 Q's I can beat him with the 2 K's.

If you aren't the landlord for the hand and you draw a ****ty hand, its sometimes good to save your big cards to shut down the land lord and let your partner put out as many cards as he can. Once you play more and start seeing trends you will get a better feel of when to pass even if you can beat whatever is out.

Be landlord if you have good trump cards for your bad cards.

If you aren't landlord don't trump your friend unless you can win yourself. Also trump the landlord on any opportunity even if it messes up your hand.

Remembering cards in important as mentioned, another reason why is because a common end game scenario will be the landlord having two cards and you need to decide if it's a pair or a single and a joker/2.

There's several online apps you can play for free to practice.

Thanks for the tips, some I knew already, some I didn't. I usually try and throw my lowest cards first, particularly if I'm the landlord. I hate getting stuck in the situation where I have a few ****ty cards at the end and no way to play them.

When I've been playing on my TV, it seems like the first person with the option calls 3 points like 70% of the time.

I guess I need to work on my memory skills the most. the only other trick game I play is Euchre, which is a lot easier to remember.

I actually think fight the landlord is a great game, because there's so few game designed for three people. My order of preference for games is 2p-gin rummy, 3p fight the landlord, 4p Euchre, 5+ poker. Personally I hate playing poker super shorthanded.
