That's 10k rmb from an agent, correct?

If you do it while your in the USA, I bet the cost will be similar to what it was for the one years then.

Hi,

I'm an easy going Irishman looking for a room/apartment in Macau from the first week in December for a few weeks up to a few months. Macau regs may know me as PeterO. PM me if you have anything in that time frame.

Cheers

Folding Pete

Hi guys,

Im located in Shanghai and play on full tilt. The great firewall makes play super laggy, so I'm considering using my vpn to play. Anyone else do this? I'm worried they might freeze my account or something on suspicion that I'm connecting from the US. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you cant use a vpn that appears as usa you will need to use hk singapore etc.

in my experience it does not help with lag.

Yeah my vpn would connect me to japan or singapore. Can full tilt detect if I am using a vpn? And as long as it isn't based in a blocked country, are they likely to do anything about it?

I am considering a move to Hong Kong after the first of the year and wanted to know what the online environment was there. Is online poker allowed? Are there players currently playing from Hong Kong? Can you set up banking there with Stars? Do you need a VPN?

This doesn't make much sense...Doesn't Shanghai have unrestricted Internet access now? It was designated a free trade zone or something. Regardless, if the FTP program runs but is super laggy, it's probably a problem on your end or your internet service provider's end i.e. malware, poor internet connection, etc.

Based on my experience, you should use the same server every time so choose wisely. Shortly after Black Friday, I used a vpn and changed servers frequently. My account was frozen by Pokerstars and I had to submit a utility bill proving I wasn't living in the US. This was circa May 2011-May 2012. My information may be out of date or completely different from FTP's policy. Good luck!

The lag is due to the GFW and VPNs solve it. Uncensored internet access is apparently possible in the FTZ, which is waaay out of the city center and you'd have to have an office there.

Just make sure you aren't using a US VPN and inform PS, so there is less potential hassle when cashing out.

Talking about VPNs that really do solve GFW problems: Stealth VPN-servers by VPNinja.

Just got back to China, my place has a 100mbit China Telecom fibre line and foreign websites barely load. My HK VPN makes access to foreign websites somewhat possible but still at snail pace.

How do you guys deal with this sh*t? Does tethering to China Unicom 3G help?

Hey guys I'll be in Beijing for a month during middle of January to middle of Feb. Looking to put massive amounts of volume on pokerstars or Full tilt.

Whats the best way to deposit onto these sites now and is the withdrawal process easy? Will my bank of America visa card work?

Will I have any trouble getting onto the poker clients? I'll be staying with a friend of mine who has fast wireless internet access at her place

Your BoA card won't work. Most sites require Americans to submit a utility bill and/or residence permit to prove you're living in a country where online poker is OK. Since you're staying for a month, this isn't possible for you. I suggest opening up the Stars/FTP account in your friends name, giving her cash, and deposit via a Paypal account also in her name. Then, when you cash out, the funds will go into her account and she can give you cash directly. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you could register a Chinese bank account under the address where you'll be staying and send that in as proof together with your alien registration from the police office saying the same.

Your BoA still wouldn't work, but you can use player transfers by swapping with someone for Skrill or RMB, and play under your own name.

go to ur local Neighborhood Police Station to register ur ''entry'' into china,
usually via 24/48 hours, they will ask you why you are here bla bla bla,
there will be no hassle but just general questions,
and have fun in china
