oh I bought everything really, but I don't think I ever managed to get the lowest possible price for anything. like t-shirts for under 20, despite people telling me it's 100% possible.

I will be buying some bags, belts, shoes and watches for sure. Do you have advice on how to get to the lowest prices there?

Bags and belts will be the hardest, becuase you need to be able to tell the difference between the good **** and the crap ****.

Highest quality belts go for around 400 RMB. The cheap **** is like 50 RMB.

If you want the highest quality bags with huge brands (LV, Chanelle, Gucci, etc.) they shouldn't be more 500 RMB. The highest qualities in lesser known brands (ciele, hermes, mulberry, etc.) might be more expensive. But these are all availible in poop quality if you want it.

Sneakers are easy, because its all crap quality no matter what the say. Just try it on and make sure its comfortable (8/10 times its not). Dont pay more than 120 RMB for any pair.

Shoes (even best quality) shouldnt be paying more than 200-250 RMB a pair. obv make sure they are comfortable.

Watches and sunglasses are the highest profit margin items in the market. ill call my girl there and get the lowdown on how much **** costs, usually 15-25% of their starting price is good.

I guess i also got a girl who sells womens abercrombie (sweatpants, t-shirts, etc.) if you need.

in hong kong for a bit, anybody know the legal situation regarding online poker? I've tried googling and the answers all seem to contradict each other

cool, those are useful guidelines.

if my friend wants a specific bag by let's say marc jacobs or something - what's the best way to get it in a high quality for the best price?

Its key that you can tell the difference between real and fake leather to make sure you are getting the best (a lot of people will lie to you about this). And can tell what good stitching is.

Best price is just negotiating skills. dont be afraid to walk away. 99% of the time they will chase you screaming lower prices.

Online poker in Hong Kong is 100% illegal. No one has ever been prosecuted

i called them up but they told me i must bring my itinerary (flight details or hotel reservation). i don't have my itinerary because i'm going to some other places first, and i don't know when i'll go to china or where i'll stay. the girl on the phone made it sound lik there's no way around this.

it would be easiest to just get the visa when i am in korea, as i would then have a much better idea of dates and places to stay. has anybody gone through the chinese visa process in korea?

Just make up the details of the itinerary and give them the name/address of a hotel. Make it simple for them. They just need something to write on the form. Once you have the visa, you can do whatever you want.

If you are American, the visa you get in the US is better than the one you will be able to get abroad. It will last one year and will be multi-entry. Among other things, it will allow you to move freely between Hong Kong/ Macau and the mainland. I am not 100% sure on the visa you can get in Korea, but it will probably be one month and single entry. That's all I was able to get in Japan.

Don't bother, the games are easier wherever you are now....

I semi-agree. If you go during National Day or Spring Festival, the place is rife with donks. However, on a typical day, you'll probably sit with at least 6 rounders.

So how strict are they on bananas in Macau? And is it easy to get?

Going back to China for one more year.

Will be living in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. I hope to hit up SE Asia during the winter. Otherwise, I won't be traveling much.

It's not a big city, but it's nice to go from a dirty, industrial hellhole with ****ty weather (Wuhan) to a cleaner, smaller city with way better weather (Fuzhou).

If I could choose any city in China to live in, I would choose Xiamen.

Well its only an hour away so feel free to visit. Did you try to find a job here? I am sure there are positions. If i get to go i can look around for you. Theres also a decent game here 10k bi.

At first, I was searching in Wuhan only. When I expanded my search, it was too late to get a uni job in Xiamen.

10K is high for me. That's about a month's pay to me. I can't imagine the game being particularly easy either, especially since I am way out of practice.

Me and a friend are considering moving to Shenzhen during the cold winter in Sweden. Can anyone who been or lived there please tell me how you experience(d) the weather there?
Is it easy to find a microballer setup and live comfortably for about $1k/mo?
Is it possible to get decent internet connection installed and also a 3G backup line?
How much harder for is it to stay in China now after the new 2012 visa rules?

I apologize in advance if I asked something recently answered. I haven't read all pages yet :$
