What are the steps one must take to becoming considered a permanent resident in Toronto? I plan on moving there to play on PokerStars but am unsure if I can just rent an apartment and have the title of permanent resident in order to cash out. TYVM

Permanent residency relies on a points based system. A draw is done every two weeks and if you have more points than the draw number then you are in. For example a draw this week could be 575 and the last one could be 420. The numbers always change and even fluctuate greatly

Accumulating points is the hard part. You will need a college/university education, skilled job experience, language skills, and more. If you are single you will also need a minimum of $13,000 in the bank, if married, minimum of $16,000
